Benefits Q w/ hiring

My DH has been out of work since July 1.  He had a second interview with a firm yesterday and is one of two candidates left in the pool.  The firm mentioned benefits packages and during this thread of the discussion my DH stated that he would like to look over everything but ultimately his wife works for a major organization in the area and has really good coverage for our family so he would probably not be using this firms benefits.

This firm is only 9 people - do you think this would make him look more desirable as a candidate since they will have what I assume is a significant savings for benefits.

Just wondering.
