Even after jehawley's post about how much clothes we all have, I ended up doing more online shopping yesterday.... haha. This morning on the way to work, I casually mentioned to Adam, "Soooo, I bought you a couple of shirts yesterday....... and then I bought me a dress, a shirt, some panties, etc...". He laughed at me... "so you try to butter me up by telling me that you bought me stuff so YOU could get some new clothes?" My response: "Exactly".
Hi, my name is Sara and I'm a shopaholic.
Re: Shopaholic....
haha ditto! I have a coupon to Ann Taylor, I cant wait, I need some new fall stuff!!
Ohhhh it's ridiculous, I have such a shopping bug. I don't know where it came from, my mom and my oldest sister detest shopping, but my middle sister and I are both shopaholics. My mom used to take us shopping literally ONCE a year, for back to school clothes, and being the youngest of three sisters I got tons of hand me downs. I also got hand me downs from my cousins. And we were by no means poor, we easily could have been dressed in way nicer clothes, but my mom just hated it. (Ironically she now LOVES shopping and will make special trips to NYC and Montreal just to shop)
My oldest sister buys her clothes almost entirely from second hand stores, which drives me crazy because nothing she owns ever looks nice and new, and it very rarely fits her. She does the same thing for her kids, which I can understand to an extent for their play clothes, but she tries to buy their "dressy" clothes their too, and let me tell you, it is an enormous fail.
My name is Jennifer, and I'm a shopaholic.
Being pregnant has given me a whole new excuse to shop - I've probably spent $1000 on maternity clothes! Not to mention the money I've started spending on the baby. We don't know the sex yet, so I've had to settle for gender neutral things like a Coach diaper bag and matching wallet...
Scrapbooking....that's the other thing that makes me a shopaholic. I've easily spent $300 on scrapbook stuff in the past week and a half. Oh, and our new house. I found a great store that was having a huge Labor Day sale and decided to stock up on some wall art, clocks, etc. $480 later, the house looks beautiful. Oooops.
I'm in serious trouble when I'm a SAHM. I only work part time from home right now, that's bad enough!
I'm trying really hard to not buy stuff right now. Our closets are pretty full, and living with a man who owns basically NO clothes has made me realize that I don't need as much as I used to, now that I have a washer and dryer in my own house.
I did buy a pair of black pants for work and some clear CZ earrings last month. I really needed the pants, and I got them on clearance from The Limited.
You guys will be horrified, but I buy a big percentage of my clothes from Goodwill and Plato's Closet. I only buy cute stuff that fits, though. I'm fortunate to have a Goodwill with a nicer selection in the area; I grew up getting ALL of my clothes and shoes (except socks and undies) at the Salvation Army store, and it showed.
