IHO: 90210

I heard the theme song this morning and felt nostalgic for the days in high school when I'd watch 90210 with my sister. I lost track of them at some point before they went off to college, but I feel like catching an old episode today to reminisce. about the hair. and the clothes. and the music! OMG. I thought the 90's were so much cooler than the 80s at the time, but I internally roll my eyes when I see what people were wearing back then :)

So ...

What was your favorite episode?

Favorite character?

If you regularly watched it, did you have a routine or someone you always watched it with?

Re: IHO: 90210

  • Oh so torn, for some reason I liked this one Christmas episode where Aaaaandria and Brandon almost got together, or when she was dressed up all cool for the underground club.

Never can forget Donna's case for being able to go to graduation or not and all the students picketing.

I suppose Brenda would have been my favorite I was pi$$ed when she left remember when Dylan and Kelly 'came clean' and she wouldn't stop listening to 'Losing my Religion'

I watched in 7th 8th and 9th grade, no real routine other than begging my grandparents to let us change the channel and gossiping about it the next day.

Just like you I thought it was so much better, but daaaang the overdone hairstyles and mega lipstick was crazy!!! Not too mention colored jeans, sort of high wasted jeans, baby doll dresses color and what about big clunky boots with EVERYTHING, I forgot about that.

  • OMG favorite show, ever!!

Favorite episode: Probably the prom episode and the one after where they all go to Donna's board hearing.  I really wasn't a fan of the last couple seasons with the clothing store.

Favorite character: I think Brandon, until he had the affair, then he was off my list.

I didn't start watching it until the 2nd or 3rd season.  I used to watch it weekly and made my dad sit through it and now catch it on the weekends on soapnet.

Here's a listing of all the episodes, in case anyone needs a refresher or wants to reminisce: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098749/episodes

  • I wasn't a regular watcher.  Didn't have a favorite character.  I still catch an episode here and there on Soap.

Watching it makes me miss the big boots with everything and Cross Colors.

  • Loooooved the show. I cringe a little when I watch it now thinking back on how cool I thought everything was!

My most memorable episode is the one where Brenda helps on the teen help line. I don't know why that one sticks in my head! Oh, or the one where Brenda fills in for Brandon waitressing at the Peach Pit and becomes "Lavern"

Looking at the episode list I can't believe how I remember like all of them! I didn't realize some of them were the first season!

My favorite was probably Brandon, I loooved him. Definitely watched it regularly, while doing homework!

  • OMG how could I forget how I cried when Steve left to find his biological parents.

We thought it was so deep. Hahahaha.

Ditto how long season 1 was, wow!!

  • I think it took me 10 minutes to read through the blurbs for just the first season! I hope I can catch an episode on soapnet or something tonight.

I have a horrible memory and only remember a few of those episodes, but I do remember Kelly and Brenda wearing the same dress to the dance.

  • Love love loved when Brenda was Lavern! I also really liked it when she and Dillan dressed up like Bonnie and Clyde! Fav character... Dunno they all rocked from the original class. Except Andrea, she annoyed me.

  • I still laugh whenever I catch a rerun of the episode when Brenda tried to go blonde and went orange instead. She looked like a clown.

I won't ever forget the episode when Dylan's dad started up his car and it blew up or the one where David's friend, Scott, accidentally shot himself.

  • Oh geez. MH was too young to watch it when it was on. His parents didn't approve of it.

Way to make a girl feel OLD! Sheesh!

Haha, this was going to be my response.  We weren't allowed to watch that or Melrose Place.

  • I had a strict bedtime of 9 so I was not able to watch it. However, when my father and step-mother went to Lamaze class I was home alone and would stay up and watch it since they got home late. I was always afraid of getting caught and don't remember the episodes- whatever season fall of 1991 was. Also on our honeymoon in Mexico it was one of the only shows in English. And that was nearly a novel length answer from someone who never really watched it. I think I need to get the DVDs though.
