A new wedding quilt

CN: H got me a quilt- he rocks!

Some of you may remember when I posted about giving my [now] husband a periodic table of elements quilt as a wedding gift since he's a huge nerd and a ChemE. Well surprise, surprise, my MOH, who made H's quilt had been hired by H to make a quilt for me.

My mom died a couple of years ago and one of her possessions that I loved the most was a set of 2 double wedding band quilts she'd commisioned an Amish woman to make on a trip to PA when I was in high school. They took a little over a year to make since it was done by hand and they were beautiful. Unfortunately my dad's new wife has commandeered everything in my dad's home, including the quilts, so it's likely I'll never see them again.

H had apparently picked up on how much I'd loved the quilts and how they basically screamed "Mom". So on our honeymoon, he presented me with a picture of a quilt he'd asked my MOH to make. At the time, the quilt wasn't finished so all he had was a picture but now the quilt is in our possession and it's wonderful! H is even building a quilt rack to hang it on as a late birthday gift for me.
