Labor Day Weekend!
Despite, Hurrican Earl's efforts, it is supposed to be a beautiful long weekend! Do you have any plans? For me, as a Caribbean woman, it's all about carnival, "fete" and "sewo" culminating in the West Indian Parade Day on Monday.
Fri: I was supposed to be going to hear a local Caribbean band play but thanks to Earl, I am staying home. Sad thing is this activity was to be held not too far from where I live. 
Sat: DH is hosting his annual braff with his friends...its gonna be all guys so I have to try to go to another event with a slate of Caribbean bands but this one is Brooklyn so we will see.
Sun: chilling
Mon: Eastern Parkway for the West Indian Parade.

Happy Hurricane Earl Friday ladies!!
Tonight; DH and i are going to do a date night, or we're going to get rained out. We have a $25 gift card from Restaurant.com and a $20 gift card to AMC movie theatre. So we want to see Going the Distance and then do dinner.
Tomorrow; i have a 10am apartment showing
but i'm hoping that DH wants to come with me and then we'll go off and do something fun! Don't know what that is yet...
Sunday; picnic in Central Park with friends!
Monday; nothing planned yet.
I just want to relax and do fun, cheap NYC things this weekend before i start school on Tuesday!!

If I don't, I don't really have any plans. that's part of why being overdue sucks - you haven't made any plans because you thought you'd have a baby by now, and you can't make any plans because you don't know when you will go into labor!
I have class Saturday and Sunday.
I didn't know the East Indian Parade was on Monday and I've always wanted to go. What time does it start?
Carrie, it's the West Indian Parade. Are you thinking East Indian as in India Parade or Caribbean aka West Indian Parade?
And it starts at 12pm and ends at 6pm-ish. I could PM you my number, we could meet somewhere on the parkway. If you wanna just check it out. Let me know.

besides that, DH and I are cleaning our apartment, doing laundry and running a ton of errands!
i love the city so much when half of its inhabitants are on vacation, yay!

YAY for a long weekend!
Today: Went to babies r us with my mom to finish registering for my surprise baby shower. Also, went to 1 of the local "We buy gold" stores and sold all my junky, old gold...$1100 bucks in my pocket! Then went to the movies with DH and my BFF to see "The Switch". It was just ok...wait 'til it comes out on DVD if you want to see it. =/ Now, just sitting hear, falling asleep...at 9:37pm. lol
Tomorrow: Cleaning, Laundry etc. Then heading to our friends house for a BBQ.
Sunday: Another BBQ to attend (but, this one is an hr. away in Jackson, NJ).
Monday: Either going to SIL's house or her fam is coming here. We'll see...

Today, we're heading to SI, because DH is in serious need of a haircut and he refuses to go anywhere but his old place he's always gone to, sigh. But I'm hoping to squeeze in some shopping, while he gets his haircut and while Sasha's at my ILs'.
Tomorrow, my little girl turns two!! I'm hoping to go to the Aquarium and then to the circus in the afternoon. And maybe a ride or two, since we'd be in Coney Island.
Monday is the birthday party, again at my ILs' (we have a small apartment and a bunch of relatives). We still need to get a lot of the food/drinks and the cake, but it should be fun!
