I ended up screaming at some random guy at 2 in the morning for calling my phone repeatedly. First phone call: 1:43AM. I don't recognize the number, so I didn't answer. Second phone call: 1:45AM... Same number, still don't answer. Third freakin phone call: 2:01AM. I answer... by screaming "WHAT?" into the phone. Some random dude "uh, is Crystal there?" I yell "EXCUSE ME??" because I was half-asleep and pissed off. "Can I speak to Crystal?".... I yell "Dude, you have the wrong effing number and it's 2 o'clock in the effing morning... QUIT CALLING MY PHONE". His response "Wow, ok.." and then he started to say something else, but I hung up.
Dude, seriously??? As if you didn't hear my voicemail TWICE already clearly stating my name?? She either gave you the wrong number because you're stupid or you're just dyslexic. Maybe both.
Re: Wake up call at 2am? No thanks.
Wow-I would have been really pissed!!!
A few weeks ago, I was woken at midnight to my text alert, I look and it's a text from an unknown number saying "Hey it's sunshine". That's nice sunshine...but it's midnight and clearly you have the wrong number. I ignore- 10 minutes later another alert- "Um hello? Do you need me to pick you up from work?" Once again, sunny- wrong number and I am ignoring you. And if you are picking this person up from work, I would think you would know them enough to have their number programmed in your phone or something? lol
Adam used to get texts from this one number ALL.THE.FREAKIN.TIME. As in a few texts a night. He would ignore them and finally I got tired of it and sent the girl a message back saying that she had the wrong number and to stop texting. She replied with "WTF John??" and then kept texting. Finally I started messing with her, saying random stuff back because she wouldn't stop. He got a text from a guy the next day. The last two digits of the dude's number were transposed from Adam's. The dude was pissed and said something like "why are you messing with my girl" blah blah blah. I responded back with a "I told her she had the wrong number and to stop texting and she refused, so yeah, I effed with her. Get over it".
She stopped texting after that.
Brandon's phone number is one digit off from a party line, so he used to get calls ALL The time. Yesterday a guy called and ws like " is this a residence? I was trying to call the party line...." cracks me up that people will ADMIT to calling party lines.
and this is why i put my phone in airplane mode before I go to sleep
What's a party line? Is that like a phone sex line? I would turn off my phone, but that's what I use for an alarm clock (apparently at 2AM).
My parents' number is one number off from a diner/pool hall so they get phone calls for the diner CONSTANTLY.
I got calls for "Emily" for YEARS after I got my cell phone.
Matt was totally freaked out a couple of months after he changed his number because some chick started texting him and kept trying to flirt-- even after he told her that she had the wrong number. He was on the phone with me when he got the first one and he went into a total panic. He was finally so rude that she quit bugging him.
We feel sorry for the guy who got HIS old number. His boss forgot to put Matt's new number in his phone and kept texting the old one about clinical meetings and who was working which weekend. The guy eventually called Matt's boss and basically cussed him out! And, of course, who knows what all other kinds of crap the poor guy is getting.
I've had the same phone number since I was like 14 so I haven't ever had the calls where they always ask for the same person. But I have had someone call me like 4 times in a row and everytime I told them they had the wrong number. But they kept calling!
However this was not 2 in the morning and you would think he would get the point when you didn't answer twice anyways! What an idiot!
