Interview

Well, I'm not sure how it went. I think it went ok.  The thing is after I learned more about the position, I'm not 100% sure it's something I would really want to do.  It was for a college admissions counselor position and it almost sounded like something close to a telemarketer job which I really don't want to do.

This was the first round interview.  If she liked me, I could get another call next week for a 2nd interview.  But, she also told me that just cuz I don't get a call next week, doesn't mean they won't call me in 3 weeks or something.  It's a lot for me to think about right now.

Thanks for all the vibes today girlies.  I truly appreciate them.

Re: Interview

  • Well at least you got a chance to practice your interview skills, if it's not the job you want. Maybe if you get a 2nd interview you could go to get a clearer idea to determine if it is or isn't what you want.

Glad that you let us know how it went, I'm sure something is just around the corner for you!

  • Thanks for the update!  I worked at the admissions department in my college when I was in undergrad, I loved it!  Definitely some of it may be like telemarketing, but there are a lot of personal interviews and counseling that you may really enjoy!  Hopefully you can get that sorted out at your second interview (crossing my fingers!)

  • I've worked in college admissions at a major University for 6 years - if you have any questions, feel free to PM me or message me on FB.  There are times I feel like a telemarketer, and it's sometimes very "sales" oriented, but for the most part, I love being able to travel and meet new people and getting paid to talk all day.  Then there are times during the year that I'm grateful to be at my desk all day reading applications and talking to no one.  It's very hard work, but it can be really rewarding.
  • Thanks for the update!! Just go with your gut on it when you get the callback. You'll know, and whatever you decide will be for the right reason!
