I can get a new phone (yay!) and hoping to get one this weekend. We're w/Sprint, so I was looking on their website yesterday reading reviews and features. I think I want to get a fun phone this time. I have an LG Lotus right now, and not getting another one.
So if you know anything about phones, are the Android phones better? I was looking at the EVO, but a friend has it and I didn't realize how huge it is. I also saw the Samsung Moment and the HTC Hero. Anyone have these phones, rec or not rec them? EVO users: It sounds like the battery life sucks, what's your experience?
Re: Phone recs
I LOVE my evo! And I think DH is now quite enamored with his as well now.
Battery life is the only real downfall I can see after having it a few weeks. I think that's one of the primary reasons for the task killer. But too, if I don't play with the thing constantly, we're doing good! I've had it off the charger since shortly before 5 a.m. today and I still have more than 50% power left (I've been sporadically texting today in addition to adding a bunch of apps after Jene's recommendations and at least one phone call).
It is big...but I don't mine it, especially when I'm looking at videos and web pages and such.
Brandy, I'm curious where your battery use is going. What does your monitor show?
C has the Incredible and I have a Droid, both of us have no problems with our batteries lasting from 5:30ish AM until 10ish PM, and mine is rarely even low at that point. If it's connected to wifi rather than 3G it drains faster, but I don't need to use that very often.

Oooh...just thought of a few things to add:
So far, it seems to take great pictures! Which is good because I've been wanting a new camera.
I love that it has a GPS because quite frankly, I hate the GPS we currently have.
In a few weeks, I'll report on the 4G aspect as I'll be able to check that out when we go to Atlanta.
When I return from Atlanta, DH is going to Pittsburgh, so we'll try out the video conferencing on it.
According to the phone, since it's been unplugged, 42% cell standby, 35% phone idle, 17% android system, 6% display.
I have a Sprint Blackberry. I just got my 2nd BB yesterday at Radio Shack w/ an upgrade and it cost me $0 out the door.
Who know if that would change too, now that he got a BB for work. He was using his personal phone for work calls and got texts, etc on his phone, which I thought was BS. So now that he's mgmt, he requested a BB and got one for him and other guy he works w/. Maybe we could get on the same plan again for our phones. I don't know, I'll have to ask DH - he knows it all.
