The Capital Grille

Our 1st wedding anniversary is 9/19, so DH let me know last night he made reservations for us at the Capital Grille on Newbury Street -- has anyone been?  I've only heard of it, and I was looking at the menu and the food seems to die for!  Any suggestions on what to get?  And how about the dress code?  Looking at the website, it appears quite dressy, so I just want to make sure DH (more so than myself) is dressed well enough to get through the door. :)

TIA!

Re: The Capital Grille

  • Hi MB!

We got a GC for the Cap Grille last year. So good. We went to the Newbury Street location, too, and dress code is essentially whatever you want to wear. There are people dressed up, cause it's Newbury Street, but there are casually dressed people too. I wore jeans and H wore khakis. No suit jackets required or anything like that.

ETA: menu-wise, you can't go wrong. H got the porterhouse, I think, and said it was great. I got a NY, a strip? Not sure exactly but it was delicious. The mashed potatoes were good too. Enjoy!

  • we've been to the one in Burlington.  The food is DELISH!  enjoy!!

  • You can wear anything. When we went, it was after work, so we were in business casual attire.
  • Ditto on the dress code being pretty much whatever you want.  Food is great, and the sides come in HUGE portions.  Have a great dinner.
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • I have been to all three of their locations in MA and have never had a bad meal.  I used to frequent the Newbury Street location for work related dinners and was therefore a bit dressed up.  You can wear whatever you want...I always love to dress up a little on special occasions, but it certainly isn't necessary.  I love love love the Kona crusted sirloin.
  • This is all excellent info -- thanks so much ladies! :)
