This is long, get comfy.
So I had a LOT of drama to deal with this morning before my first cup of coffee.
I check my FB and have a message from a good friend of ours to call him. We've known that his little boy who is 2 frequently sees someone in their house that he says is a man, and nobody else can see them. They never thought much of it. Till now. He says that 8 months ago the little boy was rocking and the chair completely flipped, not just fell over but completely flipped over and kid says that the man did it and he was all crying and freaking out. So just to placate him, he yells "Man you have to get out of our house, we don't want you at our house anymore!" He says that the little boy hasn't mentioned the man since.
Until Saturday. They were sitting on their back patio when all of a sudden, little one starts freaking out saying he saw the man by the trees. Friend says that he picked him up and was trying to comfort him and he was clawing at him and hyperventilating and really going nuts. He's only 2, remember, he'll be 3 in December. So he told him that he couldn't see the man, could he tell him what he looks like. Son replies that he is a deer (he DOES have a good vocabulary, so the fact that he can communicate that well is normal for them). Friend says that when he sees anything with horns, he calls it a deer. Insert goose bumps on arms. So basically, he's seeing a man with horns.
He said that during the past few days, there have been several more freak outs and clawing and hyperventillating over seeing the man in the house. Friend says that he remembered we had a friend at our Mardi Gras party who was a priest so I gave him his number (with permission) and they are going to talk.
So. Whew. Way to freak me the heck out first thing in the morning. I just keep reminding myself that this is a child slightly older than Elise. What would I do if it was her saying this....I'd have no reason to doubt her.
But then, I DO believe in ghosts. Do you?

Oh wow...the kid is seeing the devil himself. I kid...just thinking man with horns..devil...ew.
I am worried they exist, but I am in denial. I would be scared shitless.

I kind of think he's seeing him also. At least, that was my first thought.
I feel bad because he works out of town during the week so it's just his wife and son at the house, so I feel like I should invite them to come stay with me....but at the same time I'm scared to!

Yeah I believe in something supernatural.
I'm pretty skeptical of things like that but if my kid told me she saw a man with horns, you can bet your assets that I'd be on the phone setting up an exorcism with my local priest asap.
On a slightly related note, ever since N was born, if she is laying in bed with me, there's one corner of my bedroom that she always stares at. It freaked me out when she was little b/c she would just stare all.the.time. She hadn't done it in a while but the other night she was laying in bed with me, being fussy and suddenly looked up in that corner and started smiling.
