What are everyone's plans for the long weekend? I was suppose to do the wine gtg but I had to back out last month after I found out my FIL wanted to do a big family dinner on Saturday night (for his birthday)

It still bums me out. Now we don't really have any plans... at all. haha. It may end up being a long & lazy weekend.
Re: Labor Day plans
That's awesome! Good luck with your interview
Soooo jealous! We're going to be in Denver at the end of October... I can't wait.
Good Luck on the interview!!
As for my plans. We are going to Detroit to visit DH's family and party with our friends. It's been over a year since we went to Michigan, so I'm super excited about it.
I have friends coming up for the night tonight, other than that..NOTHING. Which I'm happy about as it's a long weekend and we'll probably get more work done on the house this weekend than we have since we moved in because it's going to be in the 60's & 70's NOT the 90's!
Good luck with your interview Becky!
We also are not going out of town for the weekend and Brian has to work on Monday so we're sticking around home. We ARE going to a friend's for a BBQ tomorrow and kicking around the idea of just taking a nice, long, motorcycle ride on Sunday. All in all, a pretty relaxing weekend. (Not to mention that I have a ton of homework to do...ugh)

Our usual Labor Day plans are to spend the weekend out on the boat, but with the weather, I think we are just planning for boating on Sunday. DH's boss' wife turns 50 next week, so we will be meeting up with them and a bunch of people on the lake. Tomorrow, we are thinking about installing new flooring in our kitchen, but otherwise, relaxing.
tonight i'm cooking because tomorrow is the BIG GAME! well, it's only big to me, and not to any of you, lol. UL vs. UK - and the kickoff of college football. We have a huge tailgate planned and we'll be out there all day. the weather is going to be gorgeous - 77! after that, i just plan to lay out by the pool on sunday and monday...
and i'm having surgery on wednesday, and i'll be down to one hand for a few weeks, so i plan to get my last few days of being a two handed person wisely!
Ouch! What kind of surgery if you don't mind sharing? Is it carpal tunnel?!?

good luck with the interview.
good luck with your surgury sam!
all i have to say is WINE!!!!! and lots of it!
Wish I was down there! Have fun in D-town! I'll be down next weekend for a shower...
Thought we'd be boating it on the lake all weekend... but the weather has other ideas
Looks like I'll just relax for my last weekend before the craziness of school begins! It's raining so going to a movie sounds nice right now
thanks, ladies!
no carpal tunnel here. i have a ganglion cyst on my wrist...usually not a big deal. i've let it go for awhile because it wasn't very big (and by awhile, i mean off and on for the last 16 years. yup. since i was 14). now its pretty big and preventing me from doing things like push ups or anything where i bend my wrist and put weight on it.
so...surgery on wednesday. i'll be in a splint for 2 weeks with NO MOVEMENT of my hand/fingers. from 2 - 6 weeks i can start "wiggling" my fingers and from weeks 6 - 12 i can have a little bit more movement and after 12 freaking weeks - if i haven't fully lost my mind - i'll be recovered.
this is really going to put a wrench in my getting ready routine in the a.m. - washing my hair, washing my face, blow drying and straightening....not sure how i'm going to manage.
