Friday... Woo Hoo!

What are your weekend plans?  It's supposedly the "last" weekend of summer (even if the weather indicates otherwise)!

Re: Friday... Woo Hoo!

  • I am so excited for this weekend!

Tonight I think I'm just going to stay home and work on the house because I was sick this week and let things get pretty messy and I won't have any time the rest of the weekend to work on it.

Tomorrow I have my teaching job and the wedding of a dear old friend.  It's at The Tech Museum in San Jose and we'll have private access to all the exhibits -- pretty sweet.

Sunday after church we're taking a little drive to stay at one of the hotels I get employee benefits with (which means a FREE STAY and 50% off food!) with our BFFs for DH's birthday.  Not sure what we'll end up doing Monday but I'm sure it will include sleeping in (woo!) and some frozen yogurt (woo!!).

  • Last weekend of summer?  The last day of summer isn't until the 21st; there are still a few weekends left of summer.  Smack the person who told you that.

This weekend we're going to see "The American" or "Machete" or both.  We'll go to Dave and Buster's one night, and the zoo during one of the days.  We'll probably go to the Eiteljorg (museum of Native Americans and the West) one day.  We also get to clean since we'll have guests next weekend.  DH's gma is up from greater Louisville; so, we'll propose lunch on Sunday with his family.  Also, we'll finalize our trip to French Lick Resort this weekend.

    Matt loves Munkii!!!
  • It's SOOOOO nice outside!

I have to edit 3 photo sessions as much as I can, see Eat Pray Love, go to the dog park, go shopping for jeans, getting ready for Europe!  Need to plan out our days (for the most part) and get all of our crap together.  It's starting to hit me that we are REALLY going....   Oh and I need to eat as healthy as I can this week because I know I am going to gain a good 10 pounds....and I'm ok with that. Big Smile

Not the last "official" weekend of summer but in theory because of school starting up for the youngsters.

My weekend plans... tonight BBQ at our house with friends (since we are finally unpacked and somewhat settled), tomorrow working on the yard, planting grass, fixing flower beds, etc.  Sunday we are going to the International Food Street Fair (!!!) and Monday has been reserved for grocery shopping (I haven't cooked a meal in ages- so bad!)

She toooooold you!.. Stick out tongue  The international food street fair sounds amazing.  And I wish I had as much determination as you guys do.  We still have tons of boxes and weeds...and we have lived there for a year... Big Smile

And Millie...it totally just hit me that we are going and I'm super excited but don't feel prepared?  I don't know any French (only good morning, good evening, and yes).  I'm really excited to go to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam as well as the Anne Frank House but I didn't know what language they spoke in Amsterdam until last night....nice huh.  And Germany....is huge.  lol...should be interesting.  I am taking my computer so I can upload my pics because I KNOW I will use all of my memory cards in the first 2 days..  Big Smile

  • Here's an invaluable set of phrases for you Kristina:

"ou e'st la toilette s'il vous plait?"  oooh, aaay, la, toile-ette sea voo play (Americanized pronounciation for ya) Means "Where is the restroom please?"

And "Parlez-vous Anglais?"  Parlay vooz Ahn-glay (like Clay).  Means "do you speak English?"

    :)

As for my weekend - Counseling session with DH and a shopping trip to Sam's club (wahoo - crazy Friday night let me tell ya!)

Tomorrow a trip to the zoo and an early dinner with my ILs

Sunday a.m. off to the Farmer's Market - gonna make some spaghetti sauce - and then work for me.  Sunday night - making sauce I hope!

Monday - sleep, sleep, sleep, and maybe some house stuff.

  • DH's family is coming to visit this weekend, as his birthday is on Saturday.  So we're going to show them around, take them to the local baseball game, do some fun "Maine" things.

I tried to make DH a nice birthday cake last night and failed miserably.  I wound up with a big goopy mess and a heat rash on my arm instead.  I had to admit defeat and buy one from the grocery store today.  Not as special, but at least it'll be delicious.

Cipolla--I am soooo jealous!  I can't wait to see all your pictures!

  • Our fun filled weekend is about to start in about 2 hours. We are going camping with 2 other couples and can't be more excited to  enjoy this great weather we are having. We will camp until Monday, go on the boat, be lazy, eat and drink!!!!! In fact I am sure I will pour a drink before we set up our camp. It's been one of those days.

lol, I really didn't encounter any snootiness while we was there.  Shocking, I know!  So long as you're polite, you should have a pleasant trip.

  • I'm excited for this weekend...

Tonight we're going to a comedy club to see Tommy Johnagin, who you may remember from Last Comic Standing this summer - 2nd place!  He was robbed, by the way...

Tomorrow is the first Notre Dame game of the year, so we will be glued to the TV all afternoon. :)  That evening we may see DH's cousin, her bf and her parents (his aunt/uncle), but I'm not sure.  The cousin and her bf just bought a house together, so we might get to see it.

Sunday we're going to the Cardinals/Reds game in the afternoon.  This will be the first of THREE games we get to go to in September!  I'm stoked. :)

Monday, neither one of us works (woo-hoo!) but we don't have anything planned.  I'm sure there will be a lot of sleeping, some cleaning, some placecard and program making for that girl's wedding, and some catching up on my stock of Days of Our Lives on the DVR (I'm about 2 weeks behind).

  • Cranky. I doubled back at work, so start with an exhausted girl, then add the stress of NOT hearing back from the agent regarding the second bank on our Short Sale (if anyone else is counting, it's Day 109), and a hot day with no A/C in the car= a VERY CRANKY GIRL. I'm trying really hard to be nice, but I'm so sick of this stupid house situation! I don't even care if we get it at this point, I just want it to end. I've got a living room full of boxes, waiting to be packed, and and overdue payment on my renter's insurance.Poor DH is doing his best, and will get me nice and tipsy, b/c I'm easier to manage that way.

Tomorrow is my only day off this week, so it's errands and groceries. I volunteered to work the holiday for the extra $, in the hopes that we need a house payment.

Sorry to be so blue, next stop is napsville. ....

  • Yay for long weekend....boo for working at the never closed hospital! However I am off Satuday and Sunday.

Saturday: Me and My cousin are taking a girls road trip to Banff. She's never been before and it's bee-you-ti-ful! (I wanna be phonetic to!)

Sunday: Me and my cousin, The Mr and my momma are going out for Sushi and then we are going shopping. Probably not the Mr. though.

  • I'm so glad to have a long weekend.  I need the break from work; I'm sooo burnt out.  After work tonight I am juggling between cleaning around the house, homework and massive amounts of reading for classes, and trying to relax.  I know we plan to spend a good amount of time doing some cleaning and organizing this week.  We are planning to list our house for sale right after the new year and we need to clear out some junk, hopefully have a yard sale w/in a few weeks to get rid of the stuff we can and make a few extra dollars.  So its busy, busy, busy since we are both actually off this weekend.

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!!

I hear ya on getting rid of stuff.  We went with the charitable donation route and it felt amazing to just get rid of the clutter.  I'm not a neat freak by any means but I don't like extra "stuff" laying around.  I had been on DH's case for a LOOOONG time about getting rid of the stuff he moved to my house pre marriage and we haven't touched in the meantime.  Finally got rid of it.  5 bags of clothes between the two of us went to charity, and an entire SUV load of household goods went to another charity.  Still have a bit more to work on but it is getting better.  Sorta therapeutic to do!  :)
