We have an action packed weekend. Tonight Mike and I have a fancy event for his work at the art museum, then we're painting the town to celebrate his promotion. The kids are overnighting with grammy and papaw, I know they are excited for Owen's 5 AM feeding. ;-)
Saturday we are going to see my family, then to the church festival down the street. Sunday we may have a family gathering for his relatives or else we'll go to a fair out in the country. Last year we saw the dog-owner look alike show, it was quite the treat.
Monday we hope to hit up the pool one last time.

Ready to rumble.
Re: Long weekend plans?
Couch shopping! It is my goal to find and purchase couches for my living room this weekend. This means I also need to finish up the recycle center for my kitchen because the boxes it's in are taking up the space where the couches will go.
On Sunday I have a baby shower where I will be bringing buffalo chicken mac & cheese and cornbread. Lots of yummy foods will be in attendance. And PDXdria and Mouse too.
I will also spend Sunday not acknowledging Groomz's birthday because I know he hates attention.

well, I don't have a long weekend . . . : ( John took Monday off so I might work a short day (otherwise I'd have to use a vaca day, it's just not a paid holiday at my company.)
Our glider/ottoman was delivered this morning so I'm sure we'll build that tomorrow. Our new Kenmore microwave with the pizza oven thing on the bottom came in so we need to go pick that up (I'm soo excited for it, we just have the crappy small microwave I picked up in college).
We did all the housework earlier this week in preparation for our doula meeting last night so we can just relax this weekend.
Sunday is a seafood boil at my boss's house and John is having some friends over to the house that night. I will also be sending Groomz happy birthday toliet paper.

Hopefully we'll spend the weekend celebrating being under contract on a house; they're supposed to respond to our counter-counter-offer by tonight. I also plan to nap a lot and maybe shop for baby furniture.

Happy birthday, Coley!
Hope you feel better, Mod.
I will not wish happy birthday to Groomz.
I took the day off today, but so far I've spent all morning cleaning the refrigerator, and going to the grocery store. All of southeastern New England was out shopping to prepare for the tropical storm/hurricane that's on the way.
Nothing tomorrow, then Sunday at the beach house, and who knows what on Monday.
Husbands should be like Kleenex: Soft, strong, and disposable.
That sucks mod. I hope you feel better and happy b-day coley!
we are doing nothin this weekend which is exciting to me in light of my week. The next three weekends are jam packed so we need some down time!
Tonight I'll probably go to the dog park and then come home and have a drink and watch crappy TV.
Tomorrow I may go to Red Bull Flugtag if I can get someone else to wander around Camden with me since the H has work.
Groomz shares a birthday with my H. They also share a desire to deprive their loved ones of cake. So Sunday I will hang out while the H is sleeping and dream about cake.
I'll probably spend Monday doing lesson plans.
For those who really want to shun Groomz, you can wish me a happy birthday instead.
Plans tomorrow are dependent on weather. Definitely visiting some friends and watching college football. Whether the day also includes golf for the boys and the pool for the ladies and babies remains to be seen.
Sunday we've got a babysitter lined up and are going out to dinner at one of our old haunts in the city.
Monday we will be doing as little as possible.
Mucho likes purple nails and purple cupcakes
I have a good 'un lined up!
Tonight we are having dinner with my BFF and her fiance. They are getting married in a month and asked us to perform the ceremony, so we are going over what they want tonight.
Tomorrow we are having breakfast at a diner that was featured on Man vs. Food for it's ginormous pancakes and omelets. The rest of the day will be spent in a food coma.
Sunday is the baby shower for one of the local gals. We have been rotating baby showers/holiday luncheons for a few years now, and each is more delicious than the last. I am already salivating. I am making macaroni salad (it has bread and butter pickles and sharp cheddar and peas in it, YUM) and strawberry cupcakes with white chocolate ganache.
Don't worry, Sam, someone is making pulled pork sliders.
Monday, more relaxing, yay. Watching season 2 of The Wire. Has anyone else watched this? We devoured season 1 in a weekend, it's fantastic.

We're in Nashville, and we went to the hospital today to meet our new nephew that was born Wednesday. He and Ethan are already planning the numerous ways they will get in trouble together. They commemorated this plan by simultaneously pooping in the hospital.
We're doing some historical sightseeing tomorrow and hanging out with the family on Sunday. Here's hoping the kid is as good on the drive home Monday as he was coming up here.

Tomorrow we are having a couple people over to watch football. Our friend's girlfriend is coming and she's super picky about food. Lorne asked what he could make that she'd like. She's going to bring her own food. =|
Sunday we're going to a barbecue that one of Lorne's labmates is having. I'm supposed to make something for dessert. Smitten Kitchen just posted a peach shortbread recipe. I think I might make that.
Monday we're taking the kids to the Padres/Dodgers game. Will has been begging to go to a baseball game for months, and they're having fireworks on Monday night. I think he's going to be a wee bit disappointed though, because he keeps talking about going to "the big A stadium" which is in Anaheim.
The nerve!

We just re-watched that episode. Please order the omelette that has chicken fried steak and country gravy for me, please.
This week's man vs food was the episode shot in Syracuse! He did an eating challenge at a diner that is less than a mile from my house, where we used to go almost every Saturday night after hitting the bar.
It kind of made me skeptical of man vs food though. While the food at this place is AWESOME, it's a teeeny little hole in the wall. Like, no bigger than my living room. But somehow he made it look great on TV.
Well, we ended up going somewhere else, so we're going there Monday morning instead. Dan already has designs on the chicken fried steak, but he wants to split a giant pancake too. Oh well, I'll nurse it off.

Why do you hate me and want to deprive me of macaroni salad?
What's the diner with the giant breakfast foods?

Because I am mean and I love B&B pickles. You should try it anyway, picky.
Stepping Stone Cafe in NW Portland. We have a restaurant.com certificate and have to spend $35, which I don't know if we can do by ourselves (it's cheap). Wanna go? We'll talk this afternoon.
I am looking forward to your buffalo chicken mac&cheese.
