Just checking again to see if any pagans are on the nest. DH and I somewhat celebrate holidays with a few other friends, but it can be iffy.
It's been harder than I thought to plan things just for us, so far it's always about a big meal. I keep thinking it will be a lot more fun with children, but that may be a long time from now!

Re: Any pagans?
Finally someone! lol That's awesome that your husband respects your beliefs and lets you do your thing. I wish my DH would want to be more active, but I'm content with him at least knowing what holiday is next.
It's hard for us to schedule for holidays because weekends can be so busy and since we don't get pagan holidays off of work we have to do it on a weekend.
I'm excited though that a good friend of mine and I are going to be celebrating Mabon in Salem. I think I will be getting more reasons to move there again lol

I know how you feel about not being able to get holidays off from work. Legally I know I could get the days off, but I don't think my coworkers would be understanding. But I do get excused from classes that day - my professors have always been really nice about it if I just e-mail them a week before and let them know.
How exciting that you get to visit Salem for Mabon! Do you have any plans for Lammas/Lughnasadh?
Yep, I'm sure after a huge process I could get them off work as well, or they would just tell me to use my vacation lol
DH and I went to Salem for our honeymoon in May and we both fell in love with it. We're thinking of moving there so I'm going back again with a friend in September to get more information.
We're doing Lughnassadh the weekend after with that group that is somewhat unreliable so we'll see! lol What about you?

I hope you find lots of information on living in Salem, and good luck with your possible future move!
For Lughnasadh i'm going to do a small ritual on my own and bake some bread to give friends and family. They don't know i'm pagan but I don't think they're going to mind fresh bread and well wishes. lol. And then probably just cook a nice meal for my husband and myself.
My sister is!
We are planning to celebrate autumn equinox... this is the first year we have celebrated, so we are excited!
No, but my roommate and her partner are (to some degree, but let's not split hairs). Our local UU church actually hosts a lot of pagan events, so they usually do something with the established group there for the holidays, and they're tentatively making some friends there.
Agree with the PP who mentions how no one minds fresh bread. Holiday food is a great method of inviting togetherness with loved ones while seeming, and being, non-threatening toward their beliefs. It's gotten me through the last few Xmases with my mother quite well.
