Yep, that's right. Jacob is 6 months old on Sunday. He had his check-up today.
His weight is steadily going down in percentile -- he's in the 25% at 16 lbs, 10 oz.
His big ole head is up to 41.5 cm
He's grown to 27.5 inches! I think that's the 65%
And the doctor said that some drs believe avocados to be in the nut family, which may explain his reaction to them. We tried them as a first food b/c I wanted to start him on high-calorie first foods so I could avoid going to formula, and he was cranktastic for the next 24 hours. I swear, it's one of the only things I didn't do a sh!tton of research about and now I find out that I may have exposed him to a nut at 5 months. mothereffer. It doesn't end.
But overall he's healthy and happy -- cried for less than a minute during his shots. I needed Thom there for moral support while he got his shots! The nurse poked him with the needle, his little trusting face melted into a lower lip pout and frown, and he cried big wet teardrops. I sang him his favorite song and he started to forget all about it. But I don't know what I'll do when that song loses it's spellbinding power!
Re: 6 MONTHS!!!
Cute and hilarious update all rolled into one!!
I have no clue how I will ever handle shots, kudos to all three of you. I went with my sister to pierce my niece's ears once (which is probably why I have my current stance on the whole piercing babies ears thing) and I bawled my eyes out, then my niece threw up, it was just horrible. I would think shots are even worse.

Yay for a good checkup! I had no idea about avocado being a nut. Lots of people on the bump feed it to their LOs so I'm surprised thats never been mentioned. Wholesomebabyfood.com also says its a good first food!?
Glad he took the shots like a champ! I always make Nick hold him and I stare at the floor- lol. I'm interested to see what percentile Campbell will be in next Friday.?
I know! I feel like the internets let me down
I literally can't watch either. I was looking at his face the entire time so I could avoid seeing the needle! I was tearing up while we were getting him ready for them and had to tell myself to hold it together. I am such a wimp!

You've got a strong stomach, Dana! The nurse picked up Jacob when she was done, but I thinking, uh ... he doesn't want you, lady! She got it immediately when he wasn't cheering up but looking at me. Oh, he wants his mom. huh. go figure!
And I wanted to hold him too -- he calms me down
