Seriously, how did I just walk out of there spending so much money?
Who really needs 60$ worth of brown sugar body products (scrub, perfume, lip treatment)?
I went in for a non-abrasive exfoliant and some face wash. I walked out with a SAMPLE of a peel (apparently that's what they call exfoliants that don't have the abrasive bits), the face wash, some liquid foundation (why on earth did I buy that?), mascara and some nail polish.
I meant to spend 60$, I spent 180$.
The worst thing is, I know I'd do it again! It, like jcrew, is a total addicition for me! Anyone else have a store like that?
Re: Sephora addiction
before I lived near a Sephora or Bare Escentuals, I was exactly like you. Now that I live close to them, it is a lot easier to show some control!
My bigger problems seems to be Whole Foods & Target. I go in there for a gallon of milk or something trivial and some how leave with a basket overflowing with stuff. I agree...I don't know how it happens either. And what is even more upsetting is when I leave with one bag & yet I paid $100!!! you would think $100 worth of stuff would at least need a few bags??

Yup, I stopped by Sephora one day to kill some time and I walked out $160 later...and that was after I put stuff back! They actually have really awesome deals on their makeup and skincare sets.
And I also agree with Target. I call that "the evil place". When I lived in Seattle, I was near one and would go nearly every day. Every time I go, I NEED to walk down EVERY aisle to make sure I didn't miss anything (although I probably know everything they sell already). I might not even go there for anything, but I'll always walk out with something. Sometimes I even went twice a day
I was so excited and kind of scared when a Target opened up in Hawaii, but luckily it isn't too convenient for me and for some reason, I don't think it is as good as the mainland. I think it is because they don't have the dollar section...instead they put a "local" section that has a lot of overpriced tourist stuff. That and their prices are higher in general...
that being said, there are a few times he will have to physically pull me away from because I will linger FOREVER and have a 30 minute debate with myself OUTLOUD about why I should/should not make a purchase.
housewares, lingerie, and salon shoes. Hahaha
Love love love them all! But I'm so cheap I'll debate a $20 cute little kitchen gadget and he'll just say buy it! So we can get out of there. But then I'll include him in my debate. He'll get impatient, drag me out & I'll be looking back wistfully... Hehehe
hawaii 10.2008 plan ;P married bio ???
haha, MH is like this too - "just buy it!" but i can never decide...
that said, target and costco are my weaknesses. i always walked out at least $100 poorer
though I must say, our new house is really close to target and i agree w/pp - it's so much easier not to spend as much money there now!! maybe b/c i know i can just pop in whenever i need to now, don't need to "stock up" on anything...
also, there's a costco really close to my office that i've been frequenting a lot lately, same thing there - i'm only getting stuff on my list when i go now - yay! whereas before, it'd always be a big costco excursion whenever we went.
Ah, Costco. Don't even get me started. We rented a car last week and did our quarterly trip up there and walked out 330$ poorer.
We don't even have kids.
I'm so embarrassed!
