Re: Orgy check in!

  • The week went fine. On the TTC front, nothing has happened so we are looking into the whole RE thing right now. Trying to stay positive and optimistic. Taking advantage of the things I can do because I am not pregnant. Like I got in the hot tub at my parents house tonight. When we go to Paris next month I can partake in all the soft cheeses and wine I want.

In just normal life,  Ben contacted the firm he interviewed with last month and they told him he is still on the top of the hiring list. When he was there they told him they had to hire a bunch more people by December so trying not to get my hopes up but those sound  like promising odds.

How about you Mar? Stacy, how is your mother in law?

    I heart Ben!!

  • You're going to Paris?? Oh, so jealous :)  That's something that's a lot easier to do right now w/o children, too, so enjoy that aspect of it!
  • Yeah we decided we wanted to go to somewhere in Europe again so we started saving for it. So we looked at our finances and we figured we could afford it this year and better go now because who knows what could change in a year. So we found a pretty good deal and booked it. Little did we know that Ben's pay cut would last this long and that my income would be cut to about a third of my normal rate. I am still glad we booked it and we can still afford it, I just would have thought twice about it had we known.

Carpe diem! I can't tell you how often Thom and I think of our Hawaii trip and don't regret a single penny. Sure, we could definitely have used the money to pay off debt, contribute to retirement, save for a house, etc. But when your life is about to change, it's so nice to have those memories of when it was just you two.

I've also heard that it's difficult to make travel plans when going through some fertility treatments, so it's even better that you're going now -- before all that starts.  Enjoy!!!

I agree, enjoy your vacation! We had a big Florida vacation planned and had just bought our airfare and booked our condo when we found out we were pregnant with Ryan. We are still SO glad we were able to have a getaway as just us two before we became a family of 3!

  • Helllllllo!!

My MIL is FINALLY out of the hospital!!  She got released yesterday morning so I spent yesterday going to the store and making sure my FIL knew what to do to take care of her.  I slept in a real bed last night for the first night in 6 nights.  I just got home a little bit ago and I am so glad to be back.

They removed a tumor about the size of a large marble from her small intestine and bladder.  The great news is that it's not cancer but it was a nasty case of endometreosis (sp??) which is crazy because she had a complete historectomy about 15 years ago.  Its nasty little fingers were attached to her bladder so they had to take some of her bladder and they had to take about 4 inches of her small intestines and that's why she was in such bad shape.  She will have a catheder for several more days to allow the bladder to heal.

The past week was one of the most emotionally, physically and mentally draining weeks of my life.  Too many emotions to explain. My MIL was so grateful and appreciative that I took care of her and I truly feel lucky to have the in-laws that I have.

One of the positive things that came out of all of this is that my sweet husband surprised me with a new iPhone 4 for taking care of his mom. He told me he didn't know what he would do without me and that he would never be able to explain how much my taking care of his mom meant to him (he would not have been able to do it).  So, he wanted to get me something that I wanted :)

Ahhhhhh iPhone, how I have missed thee.......

    ------------> Switching gears<---------------

In the baby-making department, the ute is still vacant.  The bad part is that we are going to have prevent for the next 2 months because my sister's wedding is on June 11 of 2011 and I don't want to give birth as the priest performs the ceremony.  I want to be a part of everything and I don't want to miss one second of it.

I go the the Dr. on Thursday for a consult to rule out PCOS (or to be diagnosed which I hope is not the case).  We shall see.

Whit, can you pack me in your suitcase to go to Paris???  That would be great.

  • Things are good here, I found out that I officially get promoted with a raise on the 26th. My bff is here today so we're lounging and watching dvr Make it or Break it.  We're so freaking excited to get away. I have 2 more work days and a meeting, and Damian has three more work nights (including tonight) It's soooo close!

On the ttc front... I'm still waiting to O. Its usually been between cd 12-16. And I'm now on cd 15 with no O in sight. So we'll see what happens. If it come sooner I should know around the time we get home from our vacation. I just hate waiting to know whats going on. Right now I'm waiting to O, then Ill be waiting to see if aunt flow shows up or not. Always waiting!

Stacey: glad to hear mil is doing well! I hope these next few months of tta fly by for you.

Whit: have fun in paris, my mom went for her honeymoon and LOVED it. Take LOTS of pictures for me.

  • Mar, do you think you'll O on vaca? Wouldn't it be great to have a baby made in Maine?! :)
  • I doubt it. Im usually like clockwork, and if I O today or tomorrow, I'd be due to start my period around the time we leave to drive back. I mean, I guess I could if I end up O'ing waayyy later than usual though.

I think if we conceived in Maine it'd be another reason DH would use to convince me to move up there. (hes never even been to maine yet, but he's trying to convince me to move based on what I've told him, and pictures he's seen) It would be fun to have a vaca baby though :)

I'm still not getting my hopes up, it's our first cycle so I doubt it'll happen this cycle.
