Stinky sink

What's the home recipe for cleaning out stinky sinks?? I thought it was something like baking soda and vinegar but I'm not sure if that was it or if it is what's the amount of each item to go down the sink.

Re: Stinky sink

  • What I do is pour some baking soda down the drain, followed by vinegar.  (I've read various ratios, but I don't measure.  Maybe 1/2 C baking soda and 1 C vinegar?)  Let it sit for five minutes, then pour in a kettle full of boiling water.
  • You could just make a baking soda paste and then scrub your sink with it.Like PP said, try the vinegar and baking soda solution on your drain.
  • BS & Vinegar will certainly work, but if you don't have those on hand then put some ice cubs down there and turn on the disposal.  Works like a charm.
  • Lemon or lime juice instead of vinegar works well too and gives it that clean smell.
