Weekend Getaway Ideas
DH and I are looking to go away for the weekend of our 1st anniversary. We are looking to go the 2nd weekend of October...any ideas that don't include the falls? We have looked into the finger lakes but are looking for more ideas.

You could check out the Hamptons. It will be way off season, so I don't know what's open, but it might be cheaper to go now, and it will still be pretty nice. There's a number of state parks out there, and wineries too. We camped in the Hamptons at Hither Hills for our anniversary a couple years ago. It was fun because you could go do a wine tasting, have a lobster dinner, and then camp next to the beach and hear the ocean.
We were looking into Mirbeau and they have no open rooms :-(
we went to Ithaca for our 1st anniversary.
This year we are going to NOTL (niagara-on-the-lake) and staying at the White Oaks Resort. It looks beautiful, and we are staying in a suite for a pretty reasonable rate. I love NOTL, it's where DH proposed!
