What to send? What to bring?
DH's grandfather had surgery on the 10th to remove a tumor in his bladder. It was malignant and he needs more surgery. My mom suggested sending some sort of food basket. Is that even appropriate? Or do we send flowers and a card?
MIL just had a collection purchased by a gallery. She's having an opening and I'm skipping it because I have prior plans. I want to give her something in lieu of me being there. Any suggestions?

For grandpa, I'd suggest an edible arrangement maybe?? Takes care of the "flower" aspect, is super yummy (and healthy!!) and is unique.
For MIL, flowers and a congrats/goodluck card would be nice!
