How was your long weekend?

Ours was pretty low-key but good.  Friday I just worked on a crochet project most of the day, Saturday we had my family over for a BBQ and they stayed through dinner, Sunday and Monday we played volleyball (and my back seems to be holding up, so I'm thrilled!).

Having four days off is kinda throwing off my sense of time (not that I'm complaining!), but yay for another short work week!

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Re: How was your long weekend?

  • Ehhh....I have been worrying about DoggieCrushing all weekend.  I did start sewing though.  I made a skirt for myself, and a tutu and headband for my friend's baby girl.  I also made pumpkin chocolate chip bars for DH.

Good for you!  I don't know why I can't get over the hump and just start using my sewing machine already.  Post pics of what you made!

  • It was busy! We drove up to Maine Friday night- went to my family's place and spent the morning saturday there. Then headed to dh's parents house and had mils bday dinner there Saturday night. Sunday we went to boothbay harbor for our anniversary and spent the night there. I love that place-- I had never been, which is lame since I'm from Maine! Monday, we drove around, then started toward home-- stopping in Brunswick for lunch and then visited DH's grandmother and then battled horrific traffic on the ride home.
  • it was so nice to have an extra day off... but the weekends still aren't long enough. i did some cleaning and organizing on saturday and then we went out for a friends birthday. sunday we painted our spare bedroom... we've only been putting it off for 3 years... and then went to a friends bbq. and then yesterday went kayaking for the first time! it was a lot of fun! we're thinking of buying a couple. it was a great weekend. but back to the grind today.

  • Ours was pretty low-key too. We went on a walk/jog every morning because it was SO nice outside and just did some little errands. Spent a lot of time sitting around on our balcony, went to the farmer's market, etc. It was definitely nice to have the extra day off because I definitely thought I was going to have to work!
  • Ours was good!  We hung out with friends, I went to the MFA on Saturday, walked around Castle Island on Sunday, and did absolutely nothing yesterday.  Good times, indeed =)
  • My long weekend was looooooong. We had a huge wedding in-house (the son of the owner of the Minnesota Vikings) so all of the concierge were on hand for that. I worked Friday - Monday. Monday night DH and I went to Limoncello in the North End with a couple of people I work with.

DH and I did have a great 12 mile run on Sunday (1:56).

Tuesday, however, was a sad day for my family. My grampy passed away last Wednesday and his funeral was on Tuesday. It was a beautiful service and he will be truly missed. Crying

I am excited that I'll be starting my new job next week though!
