Thanks so much for your suggestions! After looking at flights' travel times and talking to Sylvia (who decided she really can't take time off work right now), I decided to keep us semi-local. We go to Rehoboth frequently, and I wanted to do something a little bit different, so.... we're going to Cape May!
I looked on PurpleRoofs, and ended up reserving a room at the Queen Victoria (www.queenvictoria.com), but other than that I don't have any plans. Do you have suggestions about where to eat or things to see? We'll be there Sat-Sun-Mon. (Also, is Cape May really as gay-friendly as Google says it is?)
The innkeepers suggested I make reservations for Saturday night dinner (it's Victorian Week, I guess, so things are busy). Have you ever been to Union Park or Peter Shields? Those are two of the places they suggest for "fine" dining.
Ack! I'm full of questions! Thanks in advance for any and all advice...
Re: **ctbride** Cape May
yay! i'm so glad my suggestions were helpful
I've actually only been to Cape May once and we mostly spent our time walkign along the beach, browsing shops, ect (we are go-with-the-flow vacationers)...i dont even remember what we ate....but my parents go every year, its their favorite place to vacation! So, unfortunately I can't rec restaurants or specific things to do (other than going for a romantic walk on the beach
but i'd definitely take the suggestions of the innkeepers - i'm sure they know the area well.
as for gay-friendly, I certainly didnt get a p-town vibe while i was there, but andrea and I tend to be pretty affectionate in public (hold hands, kiss cheeks, ect) and didnt have any problem. i think my parents also mentioned once that they were down there during a pride rally, so thats a good sign, right?
you're going to have such a great time!! its a very easy going, romantic place - especially at this time of year

We will definitely be going for romantic walks on the beach! Sylvia loves the water. I just hope it is not too chilly!
We are definitely go-with-the-flow / browse / hole-up-in-our-room-and-reconnect type of travelers, so it sounds like the pace will be just right.
Thanks again!
