Cheese on a stick?.followed closely by fried rice from Panda Express (I know?what a ?fair? waste)

Corn Dog Pizza?.I wanted pizza, but couldn?t bring myself to have a good old cheese pizza at the fair. I had about two bites with corn dog then picked it off.
What was the ?best deal at the fair??
My husband swears it was the 2-4-20 powdered snow (for decorating) we bought. I think it was the free calendar with your picture on them that the teacher?s union gives out ? free and fun.
What was the biggest waste of money?
I didn?t do too much that was a waste of money. Personally, I thought it was the fried pickles, but others loved them.
What is the coolest thing you saw?
I was really amused by the ?human hamster ball? things at adventure park?.but I just watched. I am sure they would fit under ?biggest waste? if I paid to go in them.
What was the biggest let down? It wasn?t a ?let down? for me, but some people may have thought it was. I ordered the ?Gluten-Free Turkey Sandwich" and they handed me this huge cup. Well, the bottom inch of this cup was filled with turkey?.gluten-free, tehee. Good thing I only really like the turkey part anyways.What was the best thing you ate? Roasted Corn (it's always my fav!)
What is the weirdest thing you ate? Garlic Fries - they were LOADED with raw diced garlic. SO DAMN GOOD!
What was the ?best deal at the fair?? the coupon book. we saved over $40 using that thing! it was awesome.
What was the biggest waste of money? the midway. all the games are a rip off.
What is the coolest thing you saw? real Siamese Twins! just strolling around enjoying the fair. it was so nice to see that people weren't pointing and staring openly in front of them. they did so after they had passed by but were polite when they were within eye sight. and you must admit, it's quite a sight live and in person. you just don't see adult Siamese Twins still conjoined into adulthood, even on TV.
What was the biggest let down? deep fried scallops. no flavor, no seasoning. just, blah.
What was the best thing you ate? Cheese on a stick
What is the weirdest thing you ate? Fudge Puppy- waffle covered in chocolate with whip cream, sprinkles and fruit

What was the biggest waste of money? Cheese curds
What is the coolest thing you saw? All the crazy Kiss fans on Saturday
What was the biggest let down? Fried pickles
What was the best thing you ate? Hmm...that's a tough one. I'm going to have to go with the Sweet Martha's cookies
What is the weirdest thing you ate? I wasn't very adventureous this year. DH had a Scotch Egg though.
What was the ?best deal at the fair?? DH and I got in for free thanks to my friend. She volunteered 2 days at the fair and
What was the biggest waste of money? I think the whole Midway is just a waste of money.
What is the coolest thing you saw? NO LINES!!! We went last Tues and never had to wait in line the entire day.
What was the biggest let down? The Carrie Underwood concert. So disappointing. The review in the Strib was dead on. :-(

What was the ?best deal at the fair?? We got a cute stuffed bear with a hand knitted sweater from CanCurables for $10 and half of it is tax deductible. I agree about the Milk for $1 though. We saved our cup and went back for milk throughout the night.
What was the biggest waste of money? Didn't waste money on anything.
What is the coolest thing you saw? I agree with the human hamster balls in the big pool of water. Very entertaining to watch.
What was the biggest let down? Actually can't think of one. I wouldn't let DH spend any money in the Midway. I guess the grand stand shops were pretty boring this year.
What was the best thing you ate? I've always loved the Turkey Sandwich. Never lets me down.
What is the weirdest thing you ate? We don't do weird things at the fair. Almost always our tried and true. We ventured out to try the Roasted Corn and Bacon Flatbread Pizza and Veggie Fries this year. Both were good, but I'm glad the pizza was free.
What was the ?best deal at the fair?? Not sure, wasn't looking for any.
What was the biggest waste of money? Nothing this year!
What is the coolest thing you saw? DS's reaction to petting the lamb. So excited!
What was the biggest let down? We did the boatload of sunnies again from Giggles, they were great last year, but very bland this time.

What was the best thing you ate? Deep Fried Pickles, Deep fried banana split or the Strawberry Rhubarb shake from the dairy building.
What is the weirdest thing you ate? Deep Fried Burger, which was surprisingly good!
What was the ?best deal at the fair?? The deep fried cheeseburger was only $3. I thought that was pretty cheap. I also think the best deal at the fair is to park and take the bus. Automatically save 12 dollars there. Also....the fresh cut fries. You can get a massive tub for like 7 dollars. Yummy.
What was the biggest waste of money? I would say the "chocolate tornado" or the deep fried candy bars or the luigi fries. All a disappointment.
What is the coolest thing you saw? I love looking at the fish in the big pond at the DNR building...I'm a geek I guess. I also just love people watching...
What was the biggest let down? I guess my answer would be the same as what the biggest waste of money was.
Oh my god, the apple fudge puppies were SO GOOD. We almost didn't get them, because I saw "fudge" and thought--ew, I don't want chocolate. But then we realized that the apples ones didn't have any chocolate on them at all... just hot, fluffy waffle, filled with diced apple, topped with cinnamon, whipped cream, and a drizzle of caramel sauce. YUM. My favorite food at the fair this year!
What was the best thing you ate? Fried pickles (the ones with cream cheese), corn and corn dogs
What is the weirdest thing you ate? we tried the chicken friend bacon this year. It was really good on Sunday, so we tried it again on Thursday and it wasn't as good...
What was the ?best deal at the fair?? finding out that the spectacle shoppe does do kid's glasses!
and the 3 dresses I bought K at Global Mamas in the bazaar.
What was the biggest waste of money? admission on Thursday night. We only went because Kennedy LOVES fireworks (and we had an extra ticket)...MercyMe played WAY past when the concert is usually over, and we had to leave before the fireworks because she was melting down.
What is the coolest thing you saw? Seeing how much more Kennedy enjoyed the fair this year. And listening to her scream "mom! a WHORE! a WHORE!" through the entire horse barn.
What was the biggest let down? The fireworks on Thursday, and how freaking hot it was most of the time we were there.

The flatbread pizza (I got mushrooms, caramelized onions, and blue cheese) and snickers popcorn.

Nothing crazy - pretty normal stuff.
What was the ?best deal at the fair?? Free parking at the U - also, there were pieces of art in the fine arts exhibits that I would have bought in a second - some great pieces under $500.
What was the biggest waste of money? The midway - we didn't win a single game and I got a huge bruise on my arm from the Magnum that my sister persuaded me to go on.
What is the coolest thing you saw? Seeing my students and their exhibits - one of the best parts for me!
What was the biggest let down? My own results in the baking contests - two fifth places this year. NOT pleased.
