Job hunt frustration

Hello,

I know that everyone is having frustrations but I wanted to know how everyone is coping with looking for work. I have been working continually since I was 14 and I haven't stopped until this lovely economy happened. I had a great position that I loved and the company went bankrupt. Then I took another position just as a job and I started to grow in that position then my supervisors mom and roommate both needed a job so they made work very hostile and I ended up making a change and I quit after 10 months. Happiness is worth more than a small paycheck.

So now I am looking for a new job in Nevada...AkA one of the highest unemployed states bleh. So I am looking to see if anyone has any tips that I may not have thought of. I have followed the normal job sites, craigslist, networking with friends, linkedin and twitter. Anyone have any other ideas? I am looking for Social Media or Brand Marketing positions but have experience as an Office Manager.

Thanks for listening

Re: Job hunt frustration

  • I am very sorry about having to quit your job I know what It is like to have a job that make you miserable. Have you tried the local news paper or monster.com I have found that the jobs posted on craigslist get too many people applying. I really hope you get a job soon, I know its rough out there. I have been looking for a job sense January, graduated from a university in June, and my husbands hours have been cut back he is only bring in 40 - 130 a week.
  • I feel ya.  I was working since 14 as well and am unemployed in Michigan.  You just have to remember that you are competing with a lot of people that all have skills.  It's not you!  I do get down every once in awhile but try to remember that.
