I think we finally figured out what we are going to do while in NYC
Wednesday:
Lunch; shopping; 2 hour bus ride around city
Thursday:
Empire State Building (or Top of the Rock), Museum of Natural History, either the Central Park Zoo or the USS Intrepid and then a 2 hour evening cruise.
So excited. I am looking forward to the museum as the 4th floor has all the dinosaurs and it is pretty famous they say. I'm also looking forward to the 2 hour evening cruise as we have not done that before and it will be neat to see NYC from the water while the sun is going down. Hopefully we can sit up top.
Friday we are taking a train along the hudson river to where we are staying for the wedding.

The cruise is great. Last year we took a 3 hour cruise and it was nice and relaxing. This one takes us around the city. We might do the ferry too, depending on time.
I am not sure yet where we are going to eat. I am thinking about checking out seredipity as those desserts look awesome.
What eating places are good?
Sounds great! I'm definitely jealous! I've heard amazing things about Serendipity but was told their actual food sucks and just their desserts are good. I never heard about it till after we went to Vegas and I saw it there and was intrigued but we never went in which I now regret.
Some kids who I have babysat forever (I talk about them a lot, the oldest just went off to college) - their aunt owns a bakery called Babycakes in NYC - it's supposedly amazing. I think they're like vegan and gluten free cupcakes. http://www.babycakesnyc.com/
Do you like deli food? I looooooove Carnegie Deli (near central park, and 5th ave). Their sandwiches are HUGE (they charge to share, but thats minimal bc they are so large) and the cheesecake is the best I have ever had in my life!
We went to Serendipity, expect a long wait. We loved going here, the desserts are really good (and huge also-you could share!). The apps are really yummy as well
One night we had Planet Hollywood- dont waste your time or $$ there, the food is expensive and bad. But its a tourist trap.
Dont make fun, but I love Ray's Pizza
Here's my 2 cents:
Check out Magnolia Bakery (the cupcakes from SATC were from here) They are a little expensive, but delicious! And it will give you a chance to walk around the Village, which has tons of great shops and is great for people watching.
Do the Empire State building over 30 Rock...more iconic and a better view.
Museum of Natural History is great, definitely go there!
If you have extra time check out the TKTS booth in Times Square for cheap broadway tickets, but you have to pay with cash only. You can usually get pretty decent seats for half price for the day of. Get there early to get the best tickets and seats.
If you want something totally NYC - go to Gray's Papaya (there are a couple locations around the city) for a cheap and delicious hot dog.
I second Carniegie Deli - the portions are huge, but they are a little pricey. Katz's is also fantastic and a little cheaper.
For reviews on restaurants and what's going on in the city while you are there check out Time Out NY.
Ok...I think that's all I have! haha
Have a great time in NYC!!!!
