Yesterday, Brian and I both took the day off and dropped the kids off at daycare. We went to Lowes to pick out new hardware for the kitchen cabinets as Brian decided to give them a fresh coat of paint and change out allt he hardware
(more on that later). We went to Holland and stopped off at the Carters outlet and the Gap outlet. I actually got some new jeans that I hope fit better on me than my other pairs. They have a slightly higher rise than other jeans but are not mom jeans (yay). Then we looked around downtown and had a peaceful, quiet lunch.
As we got in the car, I suggeted to Brian that we drive to Oval Beach in Saugutuck to watch the waves come in. It was so nice being able to do something on a whim. We then stopped off at the Fenn Valley wine tasting room. It was nice and relaxing.
Re: Had a date day with DH
That sounds ideal! Glad you could enjoy a day together.
And DH and I might steal some of your ideas for *our* date day this Friday.

I forgot to get back to that. No big story, its just that this project came out of the blue. He acts like it is no big deal, but I know it will be stretched out ALL winter long, rather than him cracking down and getting it done in a few weeks. I'm just REALLY tired of long, drawn out projects. Our basement took 2 years (well techinally four years), the garage took a year, and he tore up the kitchen floor in January and it didnt get finished until like June, And he still has to repaint the walls.
I think I am going to sit down and figure out days that he can work on the project and I will let him know that I will either take the kids out for the day or go to my parents for the weekend so he can work on the cabinets (and nothing else). There was one weekend I took the girls out all morning long so he could work on the floor and I came home to find him repainting the patio furniture.
Then he would complain he couldn't work on the floor when the kids are around.
