what is everyone reading?

i just finished reading The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane and i was wondering what i should read next so i thought i would ask what is eveyone else reading?

quick review of The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane is 3 out of 5 stars. the book flip flips between current time (summer of 1991 actually) and colonial times more specifically Salem Witch trial era. i was a little annoyed with the main character. for a harvard grad student she seemed a little dense i have to agree with some of the bad reviews on goodreads.com about her, but the author wrote about the colonial era beautifully. i loved the details she described about life back then and the prespective she gave of the trials although it was not much in length.

Re: what is everyone reading?

  • 3rd book in the series, "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest".
  • I'm reading Mrs. Astor Regrets, a non-fiction about the Astor family matriarch who died at 104 and the scandal that followed when her son was arrested for fraud and mismanaging the family fortune. It caught my eye when it was written up in a magazine recently because the trial just ended. I'm only  few pages in, but good so far.  I love NYC so thought the story behind a lot of the "old money" and society stuff would be interesting. So sad though what money can do to people.

  • Abba - let me know what you think of The Art of Racing in the Rain... I listened to it on audio book, and I saw alot of the plot coming ahead of time, but I loved listening to the dog's perspective...

I just finished reading I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell - It was a quick read, and way raunchy... i laughed sometimes, and was grossed out alot of the time, and offended once in awhile.

I am going to read The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo... next

If you need a new book though, I highly recommend The Help, by Katherine Sockett - I loved this book on audio, and I am going to buy the hardcover just so I can read it, versus listening to it!

  • I just finished Mockingjay, the third of the Hunger Games series and it was awesome!  I am now reading All Together Dead, the seventh of the Sookie Stackhouse books.  My mom lent me True Blue by David Baldacci so I'll be starting that one next.

  • I'm reading the last Harry Potter (again) before the movie comes out in November!
    DD1: 3/31/10 DD2: 9/7/11
  • I am reading Thirteen Reasons Why which is really good so far.  It is about a girl who leaves a set of tapes to people who were influential to her in her decision to commit suicide.  It is a really interesting way to tell a story and eerie at the same time.

  • I'm reading The Help right now, and I'm really into it!

I just finished the Time Traveler's Wife... I know I'm so far behind the world, but it was really good, but sad.
