Had my first class yesterday!

It went really, really well. I already had homework last night! I almost cried at one point in class because they told me I can't wear my wedding ring to clinicals. I was heartbroken, because in 2 years, it has never left my finger. But it has little diamonds set in it, and it could harbor germs. I sat in class, just touching my ring.

I know it's silly, but my wedding ring really means a lot to me.

The good news is that there is another woman in my class who lives close by, so we can carpool together.

But all in all, it went really well :)

  • Glad to hear it went well. Can you just wear a plain band? Maybe you could get something like that.

    Good luck!

  • Glad to hear all went well. You can go get a small band with nothing on it to wear to clinicals from walmart or something for like less thatn $50

  • I can wear a plain band, but I'm kind of a brat. It wouldn't my wedding ring. It's not about wearing A ring, but THE ring. I'll just leave it at home on those days. I really am being a bit of a brat, because it's only for two weekends. I think I was bummed because I purposefully chose my wedding ring with nursing in mind. It's a flat band with the diamonds set into it, so nothing sticks up.

But that's a good idea Smile

  • Most of the nurses/doctors I know wear their rings on a chain around their neck when they're working.

I thought about that, too. But they are discouraging much jewelry at all due to "germs".

I'm hoping that when I get an actual job as a CNA that it'll be different.
