I like to believe that people are generally good and if that gets me screwed over once in a while then it's not the end of the world but this has me bitter.
I was on Kijiji and found a new SAHM that was trying to get her feet wet by crocheting headbands. Now I can do them myself but I have a few other projects on the go and she was asking a decent price.
So I make arrangements with her and pay via an e-mail transfer (it was less than $20) and she confirmed that she shipped them out the next day. Fifteen days later I haven't received anything so I send her a note asking if she had shipped them and she said she had but would send out new ones.
It has been another 10 days and she didn't say she had sent anything out so I wrote to her saying that I was sorry she didn't complete our transaction.
She e-mails me back calling me a thief and a bunch of other nasty names! That I must have received them and telling me how dishonest I am that they must have gotten here (she sent them from one town away).
Not once did I ask for my money back, and I hate it when people confirm how nasty they can truly be. Oh well, I am not going to spend any more time thinking about it!
Re: I am so annoyed!!
That's rotten! Sounds like she didn't get her nap. You can't prove you didn't get them and she can't prove that you did. In the end she still has your money and you have nothing so for her to be calling you names is pretty presumptuous.
I hope it all turns out and at least one set comes in the mail.
She tried to send me my money back but I said that if she really did make the effort than she earned it because I know how tough it is running around with a baby.
I know that there is no proving things that is why I didn't ask for a replacement in the first place, she offered and never once did I ask for my money back.
She just sent me another e-mail calling me a terrible person with no conscious and a horrible thief after I said that "No, I didn't want the money back but thank you".
And I was buying this for my daughter's baptism........ oh well.
Ugh, lame.
It sounds as though you were doing the right thing and you got burnt by it. I feel for you as this happens to me more than I would prefer. Its frustrating how someone you don't even know can set your whole day off.
"Methinks the lady doth protest too much"
I tend to believe that, when people over-react like that, it's because they know they've been caught being sneaky!
I am with Mel here. I can't trust ppl anymore because I have been burned one time too many.
You should ask to meet with her in person on the weekend to pick it up.
totally agree with Mel on this one.
and since you're not worrying about it anymore... may I say how cute your kids are. its been so long since I've seen Cam! such cuties!
