Update on my quest for a stroller....

I was limited to BRU due to GC's so when I went there yesterday they really didnt have anything that I was looking at online...
I decided to get a jogging stroller and they only had 3 models.....2 jeeps and 1 baby trend (Expedition)

One jeep was cheesy looking and big.  Anther was awesome but too big.

The Baby trend expedition was 129 and well worth it.  I played all through the store with it.  While its a tad on the bigger side (i suppose all joggers are) and its not as lightweight as my Aria, nor does it collapse with one hand, the ease of navigation while using it was very impressive.  The storage underneath is still a bit lacking, but its much greater than my Peg perego aria.

I tested it out when I got home, and I never in a million yrs actually thought I'd jog with it, but I did!!!! I went super far with it too! I was out for a good hour and half!!!!

The only complaint, (sort of) is the lock to make the front wheel stay straight or swivel...the lock tends to easily come undone...It may just need to be broken in though....we'll see.

I also had the 20 off coupon so w/tax it came to 116.  I found it very inexpensive and so far, LOVE IT!!! I think I plan to use it 99 percent of the time now......

Just wanted to post about it since there were some additional inquiries on strollers along w/myself!

Re: Update on my quest for a stroller....

  • That is great - and that is a GREAT price too!!  All joggers are big and bulky.  I don't think any have a one hand fold (but then again have you every REALLY needed to fold a stroller with one hand?  I haven't)  And - all joggers are going to be in the "mid-weight" range not lightweight.  So based on your review - sounds like you got exactly what you were looking for and it's not like there is a jogger out there with the same features of a great folding compact stroller - know what I mean?
  • Mrs.MJP: Since I had nothing too compare when I was pregnant and shopping, the BRU kid sold me on the Aria bc of the one hand collapsability....Then I had it and thought, "wow, this is stupid, no big deal, how many times am I gonna need to do it this way"

But DD was also always in the infant seat, so I could put her on the ground.

Then yesterday, after my walk, I had to take DD out of stroller, and since I needed both hands to collapse and store Jogger in my car, I realized, "wow, the one hand collapsability is great"  LOL

So this just proves in stroller land, along with the regular world, we ALWAYS WANT WHAT WE DONT HAVE!!! LOL

  • I don't think I'll ever understand the need for collapsing with one hand - even after Sydney was done with the infant seat - I'd take her out of the stroller, put her in the car, then collapse the stroller and put it in the car, then I get in the car (LOL!!)   Anyway, even if I was home - I'd just leave the stroller in the driveway or in the garage and walk inside the house with Sydney - still not needing to collapse the stroller with one hand.  That feature is such a pet peeve of mine - I think the only person who would need it is someone taking public transportation with no place to put the baby while they need to drag the stroller on the bus, subway, etc.
