I'm throwing out to everyone whether you know of a magically reliable, affordable car for sale.
We may have a free one so I'm as/more interested in junk yards. I should be able to drive my car to a junk yard, and get scrap cash. But Googling is scary... and I've decided the order of pleasure would be:
most joy: root canal
less: finding a new/used car
worst: finding and calling scrap yards
TIA for any heads up. We don't make enough money to necessarily do the charity car donation...but maybe that's the best route if we wouldn't get much of anything for my car.
Re: Dead car...junk yards?
The two that my DH uses is Viking Auto Salvage and AAA Auto Parts. They are both in the south metro.
If you want to PM with the make/model I can ask him approximately what he thinks they might pay. I know Viking just picked up a vehicle at the shop last week and it was less than $1000.
