Office politics... They suck. I also hate that I can't post what I really want to as my FB status because girls from my office are on my friends list. If I didn't accept them there would be questions as to why and I didn't want to have to tell them.
What is yours?
Re: Pet Peeve
my bookshelf!
Bloggy
I recently learned you can add people to 'groups' on facebook and then add privacy settings to those groups. A co worker of mine has all of her work 'friends' in one group and 90% of the time blocks them from seeing her status updates, then maybe once every week or so will unblock them and add a status update so they don't catch on (we work with some NOSEY people). A lot of work? yes. Worth it to vent about work sometimes? possibly!
My pet peeve would be people who are rude for NO reason. Is it really necessary to be rude for no reason?! I just try to be overly nice back and hope it drives them as crazy as their rudeness makes me!
Okay, so I haven't touched this feature on Facebook, but when she unblocks them--wouldn't they be able to read the status updates from the past? I'd be way too nervous to mess with that! Sometimes it's good to just vent to your best friend or call your mom, IMO. LOL!
People who complain to me about having too much to do. I maintain the school website, and I was told to get everyone's bios updated and get the new teachers' bios on the site. I asked everyone to write one, giving examples of long, short, and medium-length existing bios so they could have a starting point.
They were due yesterday. I received an email around 4pm (I got it around 5:30 while I was stuffing my face with food right before a band parent meeting) stating that they just didn't have time, and that it "wasn't a priority."
Since the principal put it on the to-do list for faculty at our meeting last week, and everyone got that, I'm inclined to just email her the names of teachers who haven't turned theirs in on time. But, I think that might be petty and overly passive aggressive. Instead, I'm going to hole up here at home and watch bad television.
This is SO me. HATE IT.
Me three.
This also. I am hating my job with a passion right now. Really trying to figure a way out.
I'm sorry Lisa, I am hating mine as well. I am counting down the days until January when I get to take some time off... I will come back after that but will be leaving in April or May for good. I hope you are able to find a way out quickly... Hating your job makes the days and weeks seem so long.
that was me with Conner....I HATED with a burning fiery passion my job at the time. Yay for getting to SAH!!
People at work annoy me. They are all older (40-50) so we don't have a lot in common. So the only thing people ever talk to me about is how my mom's doing (she used to work here, but she moved up to the branch in Tulsa. Every single person I walk by says "How's your mom doing?") or how long until I graduate. I'm tired of being reminded that I still have 2-4 years until I'm done with school. And there's one person who keeps saying "you should just take some time off work and just get all of your school done". Okay mister smarty pants, I have an idea, I'll quit my job and go to school full time and YOU can help pay for my mortgage and bills and for school. Geez. And then there are the people who ask me how long until I graduate and then 2-3 months later, they ask me again. Come on, you cannot be that bad at math.

A big YES to putting away laundry. I don't mind doing it at all, but I HATE putting it away.
Also, people already telling me how to raise my child. The "you'll want to do this" or "you need to do this." Or how long it will take for me to feel like me again. It's family that's doing this and it's going to drive me crazy!!! It's already driving H crazy. So we'll see how it goes once the little guy arrives. Advice is fine, but don't tell me what to do.
I hate when other people parent my kids. I don't mean like at the park if I don't see V push a friends kid down, I mean like at dinner other people telling both kids they have to finish all their food on their plate or they don't get to get up or telling them they can't play with something because its not designed to be a toy (a cardboard box or a paper towel roll for example).
I also hate putting laundry away. It is the worst! Dishes too. I don't so much mind washing them but I hate putting them away!
