How do you divide them?
It feels like I do everything and take care of our DD plus he whines about having to cook even though he is home alot earlier than I am almost everyday.
Re: dividing chores with SO?
I do the laundry usually because I'm particular how my clothes are done but if DH needs something (and yes I do hear "Baby, I'm almost out of white shirts...") he will usually do it unless I'm already doing laundry.
Our rule with cooking is that whomever cooks, the other one cleans up. I usually do most of the cooking (I do like to cook) but I love not having to clean up!!
We do things together. So if one person is cleaning/doing chores then so is the other person. We aren't always necessarily doing the same thing, for example he might be cleaning the bathrooms while I'm vacuuming or dusting.
Since we're both "working" at the same time there isn't any resentment. We're both doing something that needs to be done, instead of one person working & one person watching tv.
DH and I naturally fell into doing certain things. He hates cleaning toilets and I don't mind doing them, but I hate cleaning bathtubs. He loves to cook, but hates to clean up and I hate to cook but don't mind cleaning up. We basically split things up based on what we like doing, don't mind doing and hate doing.
