Let me preface this with: I am NOT a runner. ![]()
DH signed up for a 5k to support a local animal charity and thinks I should sign up to run as well. As much as I dislike running, I've been thinking of doing a 5k for a while now... kind of a "face your fears" type of thing. Plus, maybea goal like this will help me get in shape.
Anyway, the race is November 14th which is just over 2 months away. Is this enough time for an out-of-shape, beginning runner to train? I'm not really concerned with time, just getting it done. I know it's only a little over 3 miles, but I usually call it quits after one mile...
I know we've got some runners here so I'd love any advice, tips, or just moral support in general! Thanks!

You should sign up...like pp said-just listen to your body and be kind to yourself. the c25k is a great program to train with. The most important thing is to stick with the schedule you map out each week- even if you have to do a run/walk combo. And it always helps me to workout the same time everyday-for some reason I feel more accountable. Let me know if you need anything and good luck!

Thanks ladies!
I'm really starting to look forward to this, and I have just enough time to do the C25K program and get my butt in shape.
I'll definitely be paging some of you when I need advice or want to give up. Thanks for all the words of advice and encouragement!
