Hi everyone,
I had a job interview 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I met with two people: the head of the org. and someone in HR. Both indicated that they want someone to begin sooner rather than later. Director said they'd make a decision "probably end of next week" (so last Friday) and HR said "probably next week, definitely the week after, if not." Since they indicated they definitely wanted to make the decision quickly, I'm surprised I haven't heard anything yet. I sent a handwritten TY to both people a few days after interview.
Should I send a follow up email to indicate I'm still interested in job and wondering if they have a sense of when they'll make the decision. I need to give at least a month at my current job, so the longer they wait to make a decision, the later it'll be before I can start working if I'm offered position. Should it go to HR, Director or both?
Thank you!
I've never posted but enjoy reading this board. Always really great advice!
Re: Follow up email after interview
So you're looking at the end of this week, per the HR person. I wouldn't send a follow up just yet, probably more like sometime next week.
If you do end up sending an e-mail, I wouldn't "sonder if they have a sense of when they'll make a decision". I would simply say you were following up and letting them know that you are interested in the job, and the specific reasons why.
