Re: WHODAT!?!?!

  • And by 'them' i mean my students lol.
  • Ooo FUN!!! I miss marching band... How big is your band(s)?
  • I have about 60 kids and i teach middle school. Once in a while i give them a 'mystery song' and we learn it. First kid that figures it out gets to select a prize from the prize box. So far, they have been really excited about this song lol.
  • Awesome! Definitely keep doing that, it'll keep them interested so they'll stick with band. I know in hs (didn't start band til junior year) my favorite parts of concert band were when we learned songs for pep band or marching band, lol. I didn't fully appreciate concert music til college. </P>

Maybe I would have stuck with the violin if we played some fun songs once in a while... And if the director wasn't crazy and if we actually had it as a class, not before school.
  • Thats sounds like fun!  In HS, I always enjoyed Jazz band in the spring...so much more laid back and fun than the stiff concert music.  That and trying out the new marching music we'd play the following year.
