Hi ladies,
I have no idea if this is the right board for this post, so please excuse me if it's not ![]()
I live in the Philly area and I am embarrassed to admit
that I have never been to the Poconos. I have always heard great things -
but just have never had the opportunity to go.
So, my husband and I -along with our two small children- are planning a
Poconos trip during Columbus Day weekend.....and I could use some help.
I realize I can Google info, but I think you all will be a better
help!
We would like to stay in a Pocono town that is as close to Philly as
possible, only because our cherubs aren't big on long car rides
We
don't have a preference about what kind of place (i.e. resort, private
home, gated community, etc) we stay in....but we would love to be able
to explore nature and be able to walk to a lake and an indoor pool. A
tall order, I know.
If someone could offer a suggestion or two, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much for your help!
Re: Is anyone a Poconos Guru??
Probably the Shawnee Mountain area is one of the more 'southern' regions of the Poconos. Its just past the Delaware Water Gap and its about 2 hours from Philly. There are many great places in the Poconos but that could easily add an extra to your drive time. This might be a good website to start with.
