tarnished silver jewerly/box?
I have some fun/inexpensive jewerly that is silver & tarnished - anyway to clean it??
Also, the heart shaped silver jewerly box my new SIL gave me for being in her wedding in July is already tarnished!! any suggestions??
TIA!
Re: tarnished silver jewerly/box?
take a pyrex and line it with tin foil. lay your jewelry on the foil and sprinkle baking soda on it. boil water and then fill the pyrex until it covers your jewelry. wait 10 minutes then you can take out your jewelry, rinse it, and dry it with a soft cloth. you'll see the tarnish on the foil! otherwise you can get a jewelry cleaning cloth and rub down your jewelry by hand (in circular motions). i worked for a jewelry wholesaler and the baking soda method is great if you're doing a lot of pieces!
for next time, it's best to store silver in an airtight container (ie. a ziploc bag).
Ditto this.
