Mom's 60th Bday!!! HELP!!!

Hi Ladies,

This december my mom will celebrate her 60th birthday and the party planning has fallen into my lap.  My initial idea was to throw a surprise party with EVERYONE near and far.  But seeing as my mom hates surprises I decided to feel her out.  Good thing I did because apparently I was completely wrong!

As of right now I have been told she want's a girls night in at her house with a list of a dozen friends she had provided me with.  My mom is single and so not looking for a guy.  The only other specification is that she would like chinese food.

What wonderful ideas can anyone give me on planning a women's night in for a small group of women who dont drink... with a chinese dinner?!

Any ideas are welcome!!!  The good thing is I still have a decent amount of time let to get things in order but I am in desperate need of ideas!!!

Re: Mom's 60th Bday!!! HELP!!!

  • Maybe have a mobile manicurist come to the house and a massage person? One person could be getting maybe 15minute mini massages and someone else nails/pedicure? Not sure what your budget is....
  • I have a friend who does Spa Parties- just like Ann suggested- she does massages- hot stone, reflexology, and a bunch of other stuff.

You could also think about seeing if you could get someone to do a cooking demo with chinese food for your group. So kind of like an in-person Benihana's or even make it a hands-on demo.

The first thing that came to mind was wine tasting- but since alcohol is out, you could do a chocolate fondue tasting- have a bunch of different types of chocolate and a bunch of side items like strawberries, bananas, rice krispies, etc...

If these ideas don't sound appealing, let me know- I love a challenge :)

Don't worry about tomorrow. After all, today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. Take each day as it comes...one at a time. Midnight Baking Adventures Blog
  • I love the chocolate fondue tasting idea!!! My mom is a big chocolate person!!!

The massage party idea is amazing! But not for this crowd.  I think I will save that for my sister in laws next birthday! :-)
