best cupcakes ever??
I need to get some super delicious cupcakes for my DH's birthday tomorrow. I'd whip some up, but since he is a SAHD and I am working, there is no time I can get into the kitchen to make a surprise batch.
Anywhere in the Triangle.....Raleigh, Cary, CH, doesn't matter

I've heard great things about The Cupcake Shoppe on Glenwood in Raleigh.
Cafe Carolina also has great cupcakes. They have a few more locations, which might be more convenient for you!
The best... The Cupcake Bar in Cary.
Call now to order a dozen or they sell individuals on certain Friday nights or all the time at Coffee and Crepes at Cary Crossroads.
I know this won't do you any good because they are in Charlotte, but Polk-a-dot bakery is pretty amazing. They are actually supposed to be on an episode of that new show cupcake wars.
I'm not sure the turn around time on The Cupcake Bar, but I would give them a shot. I've tried their Mexican Chocolate & Pink Lemonade & both are very good (I also had a stale vanilla one time, but emp @ Coffee & Crepes should have pulled those b/c I think they had been delivered sev days before)
ETA: looks like you need 2 days for The Cupcake Bar.
I actually have to go to Charlotte this morning for work--over by the airport, so I think I'm going to give this a try.
The Cupcake Bar sounds really good---I'm keeping them in mind for another occasion, when I don't procrastinate until the last minute
