physical pain = emotional anger

I have this knot in my back, right next to my left shoulder blade and it's killing me. The only time it doesn't hurt is if I sit or stand perfectly straight. I can't hunch (I know I shouldn't hunch anyways) or even lean over without it hurting like a b!tch.

Point is - it's making me really pissed off and not very friendly. lol. I have to laugh at myself. My back hurting is literally making me angry. wtf.

Re: physical pain = emotional anger

  • I know the feeling.  Except my pain is on my butt.  LOL...
  • oh man I know exactly how you feel. I had the exact same thing but on my right side and it hurt like a sonofabitch. Made me totally cranky.  I finally sucked it up and went to a massage therapist. It worked wonders.
  • welcome to my 2 1/2 every day hell!  hope you feel better soon!

  • i feel ya. literally. except its in my hand. i've been the biggest beast to be around today, that at one point i actually started laughing at myself and my pure grumpiness. my hand is freaking killing me.

  • I get something similar every once in awhile. What works for me is placing a golf ball (or something like it) on the floor then laying on it with the knot right on top of the ball. I lay all my weight on it for 30 seconds then let up for 15 seconds and repeat. It's not always instant relief, but it makes a difference in the long run. Not exactly practical for work though so I've also leaned against door knobs and the corners of walls..lol

I hope you feel better soon!

  • Ouch, back pain is the worst :(  Do you ever go to a chiropractor? That's always helped my back pain (when I go to my regular guy anyway).

  • I know what you mean exactly!  That's sounds similar to the pain I've had in my shoulder since my accident.  Rocky used to always complain that I was cranky whenever I wasn't on my pain killers and he blamed the pain killers saying they were altering my mood.  When in reality I was just pissed off because my damn shoulder hurt!

I think in your case you should take some Tylenol and have your DH give you a backrub to unkink it.  :)  Or just have some wine.  That always made my shoulder feel better!  Haha!
