I woke up this morning to my mom calling to tell me that her SIL died during the night. The family just found out within the last month that she had been diagnosed with cancer. I didn't know her that well but I feel really bad for the family.
Re: How my day started
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.
I have a similar story. My labor day was bittersweet to me because my mom called and in about 5 minutes told me 1) my terminally ill uncle had fallen and was taken to ER for lots of bleeding, 2) my cousin in AZ is expecting their first baby in March and 3) my other cousin in NY is expecting their 2nd in April (which was also when their 1st DS was born).
I ended up visiting my uncle at the hospital around 9:30PM and it was so sad to see him. Basically a living skeleton and the hospital wasn't doing anything for him except to make him comfortable because he is terminally ill. His blood pressure is low because of all the loss and it isn't clotting properly, he has internal bleeding, and has fractured his face, spine, many other bones. Talk about an emotional end to labor day...
On a brighter note, he's concious and very talkative with a generally bright outlook on life given his condition. We just know his time is coming so I hope that he'll be done suffering soon.
