Can I throw a mini fit for a minute?

So, I LOVE John Legend. LOVE LOVE LOVE him and want more than anything to see him in concert. DH really likes him too. Well, he comes to Sacramento (literally five minute from my house) last September and we couldn't go. DH was a groomsman in a wedding in Seattle. So we look up his tour schedule to see if we can catch him anywhere else. He's played in Seattle RIGHT before we got there and missed him. He played in LA the day we were leaving for Seattle. DH noticed he was playing in Las Vegas, so he said let's just go. Well of course, he's playing the weekend our friends who got married in Seattle decided to have their at home reception two weeks later, so we couldn't go.

A few months later, he comes to town and guess what? We had to go to a wedding.

Then he comes to Northern California about a month ago, but the only tickets we could find we for $500 each (it was a benefit show) and couldn't and wouldn't pay that much to see him.

So DH calls me a few minutes ago to ask me what time the wedding starts that we are going to in Portland this Sunday. I told him 6pm, why? He said my day would be ruined if he told me...JOHN FREAKING LEGEND is playing in Portland the same night as the wedding at 8pm said he could get us FRONT ROW tickets for $30. To top if off, the wedding is supposed to be super lame (my aunt told me this, it's her step son getting married) and probably wouldn't last longer than 8pm anyway, but it's an hour from where John is playing. We moreso RSVP'd to the wedding to spend the weekend in Portland and to use it as an excuse to go up there. It's not like our good friend's wedding in Seattle last year where we were really looking forward to it and stuff, but at this point we can't back out of the wedding. I'm sure people would beyond angry at us for RSVPing and not showing up to go to a concert...Grrr...

WHY WHY WHY does the universe not want me to see John Legend? I told DH a few weeks ago that I have a feeling the next time he comes to town will be when I'm in labor. Any bets on if this will happen? Lol.

  • lol simma down preggers! :) Dont wanna have that baby early!

On a side note.. dont hate me or anything but I LOVE LOVE LOVE John Legend too (Our wedding song was "Stay With You"), I saw him in concert with Corinne Bailey Rae about 2 years ago for $20.. we were so close to him and he is so little in person but still pretty cute

I'm sorry the universe is working against you!!

lmao, maybe I should simmer down and not go and see him, I may have early labor by getting too excited...although if he comes to town close to my due date I can go and get all worked up and induce labor? Hmmm....Although I did okay with John Mayer a few weeks ago and the only man I love just as much as John Legend is John Mayer (besides DH of course).

  • Hm, I don't see a problem :) I mean, John Legend has opening acts at 8, he probably won't take the stage himself til 9. You can show up and stay til about 7:30 and then, omg, pregger lady chick ate a bad salad and needs to leave so she doesn't sick everywhere. Best wishes to bride and groom, then off to fill your prescription of Legend to make it all better :)
  • Thats sucks! I would miss the wedding and go and this is last time you can go to a concert without baby yet!
  • I totally vote for you feeling sick after the ceremony.

  • LMAO....oh my Alicia. My friends that have seen John Legend in concert love him as well, they say he's awesome. I vote for you being sick...don't pass this opportunity up as well. Did you really want to be miserable at this wedding? Who cares that you RSVP'd...something else came up right?

BTW - John Legend was in concert in the OC at the end of July as well....I can't remember if you were here or not. lol

If you milk it, you may as well be too sick for the ceremony too.  I vote the concert, all. the. way!

  • LOL ladies. I think I'll go to the wedding and pout the entire time and have faith that my John will come back so I can see him soon. Sigh, at least I got to see him in concert on TV a few months ago...
