I went for an interview. The recruiter and I had discussed my current salary during the phone interview and wanted to meet with me to discuss a few positions. The interview went very well and were discussing scheduling the second interview with management when she started talking about the salary. Apparently she thought it would be feasible for me to take a $12,000 pay cut. It is not.
I was caught off guard and said I would need to think over the pay cut and would contact her to set up the second interview once I checked to see when I could come in next week. I know I should have just told her then I was not interested but I didn't. Should I call or email and tell her that while I appreciate her time and consideration that is it not something that I am interested in?
Re: Call or Email?
Yes, you should. And I would make it clear, nicely, that you would be unable to take a position for less than your current salary. Give them the opportunity to raise their offer.

Thank you! I will call her and hopefully there is some type of discussion or another offer.
