    I was about to order the first one from my library!  from what I gather, it's reality tv in book form?  sounds like my two loves met, had crazy sex, and birthed an awesome baby.

    They're about a girl who get forced in the Hunger Games.  A nasty broadcast "game" where 24 kids from 12 poor Districts fight to the death for the amusement of the powerful Capitol in punishment for the Districts losing a war a long time ago.  It's a part post-apocalyptic, part suspense, part war, part love story.

    But the love story takes back seat to the plot. And the female protagonist kicks ass.

    So good. I'm so bitter there are only 3.

    I am the outlier of ambivalence. They sort of remind me of the Kite Runner but not as well written. Suzanne Collins is a GREAT storyteller and an OK writer. I also found the setup so distasteful that it felt like I was reading a trainwreck. I read all 3, almost in one sitting, they are addicting.

    Yeah, I don't get the "Team _____" stuff with this series.  I didn't LOVE love any of that characters that much.  But holy crap, I loved the stories and freaking devoured the books.

    I loved in the days after MJ came out and anytime someone on NBC said anything critical about it, 84Lauren would FLIP her SHIIT. It got to be really funny.
