So, I dont really get to hang around kids very much because I'm the oldest cousin and the next oldest is 17 and I don't have many friends who have children. The only one I ever spend any time around is my nephew who is 3 and his mom who has the mental capactiy of a 3 year old. Naturally, the kid is spoiled...he acts out...he gets mad...and he's just an all around handful. That has put a bad taste in my mouth so to speak about having kids. He makes it seem like a lot of work because he never minds and he's always getting into things. Today, I went to a really close friend of mine and Cody's baby shower and her sister has 5 month old triplets and then her cousin has a 2 month old and there was some older kids there but under the age of 4. They all behaved so well! I was so impressed. I came out of that shower an enlightened woman! Kids really can behave if they are taught to. Wow! Maybe babies aren't that scary after all!

Re: change of heart.
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.

I think everyone is a little scared to have kids! Everyone I know says that once you have your own you definitely feel different about kids! I'm sure you'll be a great mom when the time comes =]
I second this!!
There are plenty of well-behaved kids out there - I have to remind myself of this when I get scared, too. Don't worry - when the time comes and you're a mom, you'll raise your kids not to be holy terrors and things will be fine ;-)
I'm operating on this theory! LOL
