Give me a recipe...

It's cooling off here and I have access to my mother's crock pot.  So give me a crock pot recipe that I can make Monday or Tuesday that doesn't have too many ingredients and is delicious.  I know you all posted a bunch earlier in the year, so I know they're out there...

Re: Give me a recipe...

  • shazzie had posted an AMAZING recipe for lemon chicken...now my mother makes it too.

now, I just throw similar stuff into the crock pot with the whole chicken, but I'm sure she can give you the actual recipe!

  • Same question on H&F today that I'm sure will get lots of responses

  • i second the salsa chx recipe. i made it for the first time over the weekend and it was tres easy and yummy! i served it over rice though, which DH really liked. i only added corn, black beans & onions though. next time i make it i might try a hotter salsa...i kept splashing red hot on it for a little bit of heat. Embarrassed

this has now reminded me that i forgot my lunch at home today. bummer.

  • A fun one is beer chicken! Combine these ingredients in the crock pots for 6 hours on low or 3 hours on high: whole chicken (or breasts), salt, pepper, rosemary, mincedgarlic, small onion chopped or quartered, and a can or bottle of your favorite beer (easy to pick fun flavors in the fall, like pumpkin!).

Porkchops and potatoes: Slice up some yukons, layer the tater slices on the bottom, then a layer of chops, then another layer of taters. Each layer should be seasoned like above, salt and pepper, garlic, onion, rosemary. That's my homestyle seasoning blend that works for everything. Cook on high for 3 hours or low for 5-6

  • Ouuu porkchops, that's a good fall food.  Thanks!
