Anyone planning on getting any new babies now that you and DH are married?

We had a hedgehog for a while, but poor Pinkerton passed on around Memorial day. In a few paychecks we plan on getting a pair of chinchillas to add to our zoo which already includes two betas, a ball python, a bearded dragon, a scorpion, a tarantula and a newt

DH and I adopted a year and a half old rescue puppy about 2 weeks ago! His picture is in our siggy, and he's such a sweetheart. He's snuggling with me right now!

Aw. I've always wanted a hedgehog! And it's worth trying to convince Hubby to get one, since we're in an apartment and cannot have dogs/cats. Was he much work?

We adopted another shelter dog 4 weeks before we got married. Our plan was to wait until after the wedding, but we couldn't pass him up. We were told he was a boxer/mastiff mix; however I think he may be a bully breed mix.

We already have another shelter dog and two cats.

We adopted 2 cats and 2 turtles back in Nov/Dec of last year, so I'm pretty sure our 1 bedroom apt is as full as it's going to get for the time being!

Now that the wedding is over, the turtles are going to get some love. They need a better filter, and some other things to help out with their tank.

DH and i plan on getting a puppy within a year. we both want one but would like to live selfishly for the first newlywed months. not have to worry about boarding it, training it, feel guilty for leaving it alone while while we're at work.

No, not at all. We would feed him 1/4 cup of lite cat food every night and he'd scurry his prickley little butt up the ramp to the feeding level of his cage. Then he'd drink some water and run in his wheel for a few hours, go to bed around 5am and start all over again the next day.

Our conversation today went something like this:

Me: I want a puppy
DH: When we have a house with space we can get a dog
Me: Maybe we can get a cat? At this point, I'll settle for a fish

So DH immediately got up and said let's get a fish. We're now the proud parents of a Beta and I have learned to be careful when I make random suggestions.

We got a rescue puppy about a year ago, her name is Stella. And DH just confessed he was thinking about getting me a puppy for my birthday.

I am so surprised (anf happy) he wants to extend our family again, but we talked and decided to wait until after we have moved mid next year.

Haha, hey, Betas can live for a long time. I had a Beta names Hamlet that lived for just over 4 years. But they're also very fussy pets, so when you change its water, make sure you keep some of the old water in there, too!
