Are you exchanging gifts for your first anniversary? does anyone have any good ideas?

We are taking a "staycation" at a local hotel/spa, but my husband paid for it, and I'm spending the day at the spa for my birthday-so I want to get him something-other than he's excited to watch football all day while i'm at the spa...

We are going to the Cal football game on Saturday, then on Sunday driving down to Carmel for a night at a B&B, followed by a trip to the amazing Monterey Bay Aquarium on the way back! I am also framing my vows for the "paper anniversary" gift (he gave me his framed for Christmas last year).

We are also doing a stay-cation. The Mr. is planning it all and I have no idea where we are going or what we are doing. As for a gift I am not sure that we'll exchange anything but cards.

I think that we are going to try and do a nice dinner on a Saturday night then spend the night in town at a hotel. We didn't want to go far, but wanted to have a night out where we didn't have to go back home. I'm thinking I will get him a book he really wants and possibly a t-shirt as well for his gifts. We're keeping it pretty low key. I'm looking forward to having a night away from the house, though. Smile

We got a groupon for a resort here in Northern Minnesota so we're staying there for the weekend and shipping the dog off to IL's house. We are taking a tour of a now defunct mine Saturday a.m. and then have a couple's massage scheduled later in the afternoon. I've never had a massage before so I'm hoping that I can relax - I'm pretty ticklish.

We are going just about 2 hours south of us for the weekend to Erie PA. We are going to a ghost tour and then just lounging at the hotel. Hopefully the trees will be beautiful by then.

Hoping my 'paper' gift will be the title to our house! If things go right, we could be in the middle of a move. Either way dinner @ Ill Fornaio, the sister restaurant to Canaletto Las Vegas, where we had our post wedding dinner. Unless we're cold broke- then maybe pizza and a beer on our new back porch with 'paper' napkins!

We're hoping to have a long weekend away about an hour north of here. There's a cute little inn where we can enjoy the peak of fall foliage and play a little golf (and I can totally embarrass myself, as I've only actually played once). I'm thinking the actual paper gift will end up being an "I love you" doodle taped to the mirror for when he wakes up. I really can't think of anything else.

Seeing as I am due just 13 days after our anniversary, we are staying at home since who knows what will happen. ?We will probably go out to a nice dinner and possibly the Melting Pot for dessert. ?

I have been working on a scrapbook of our adventures since we started dating. ?He has been bugging me to work on it basically since we started dating. ?:) ?That is going to be my paper gift to him. ?We aren't doing much since Peyton is basically our gift to each other and we need to save money for her. ?

Not sure what to get the hubby. He doesn't want to do anything extravagent for our anniversary so I'm thinking maybe dinner and a massage. Who knows.

We are heading down to savannah, ga for a long weekend. We are actually going the weekend before because of when my DH vacation fell. Other than that I dont think we are exchanging gifts. DH b-day is also in October so I will have to get him a gift for that too.

Yay! I love Carmel! If you want a breakfast adventure, check out Em Le's (On Dolores between 5th and 6th). They have a specialty french toast that's pretty much like funnel cake combined with french toast. Their other meals are tasty and priced resonably too!

We're going to Mexico on the 27th for an early anniversary trip. We just got it approved through work (staying at a sister property so no hotel fees -- whee!) and bought our tickets last night. I'm also going to do something creative with a wedding photo and my vows for a gift to give him on our anniversary. I'm so excited! I can't believe it's almost been a year!!
