As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

What platform (I am not sure I am using the right term) do you like the best? WordPress, Blogspot, ...
I want to venture into blogging and right now I am getting myself familiar with features, etc.
Any helpful tutorials?

I use blogspot and it is pretty user friendly. I am not a very computer saavy person and I am able to figure it out rather easily!

Both Wordpress and Blogspot are pretty userfriendly. Can't go wrong with either.
Wordpress - Overall, it seems like server reliability is much better compared to Blogspot. Layout options are more professional/sleek in feel overall. Much better spam filter.
Blogspot - Far more design options because you have access to the HTML and can modify away (there are tons of free designs out there).
Wordpress, is growing and adding more layouts and more options for personalizing your blog but its still behind in my opinion. Sometimes I get REALLY bored with the layout options. But, I'm still pleased with wordpress. I've been blogging on wordpress since 2005...
